Send them back and get your money refunded.

    Then...

Go down the shops and buy them in a store where they will be only too happy to unpack and test for you.

I like the store service in Thailand, they are always helpful and I find it's worth that little bit extra cost to know what I buy is what I wanted and works.

^ Not only that, but they will help transfer everything over to the new device while you pop off for lunch. I hate doing all that stuff.

Don't shop online. And certainly don't shop online by way of historically dodgy outfits.

Some might be surprised as ro how well this all works.

Jeff when you post like this is so easy to see you dont live here. If you did you would know that online shopping is necessary at times. Unless your two main interests are cheap Thai ciggies, and Kau Lau.

An S8 is over a $1000 USD as I recall. That would make it worth it for me. If you paid less....well there is a Samsung website with their prices on it.

Also, Samsung shops are probably in every mall on Earth. Go buy one directly from the dealer, ask what free stuff comes along with the purchase and I'm your uncle.

Many big electronic companies have official Lazada stores also. Including Samsung.

aging one is right when he said its obvious that some people who post here do not live in Thailand
in Australia its easy to find the retailers of just about anything they have a listing in the yellow pages with both
their address and contact phone number
in Phuket they generally have a web site and email address and if you are lucky a actual business address
Samsung have their own outlet in Phuket town if you can find it
the only place i know that genuine Sumsung products are sold is in the basement of big c
its my birthday this month and my Thai family are going purchase a genuine Samsung tablet from there as a present
The fake ones i bought from lazada is a load of rubbish and only good for playing games and watching U tube
that's what the children mainly use theirs for so they are OK for them at presenr

^ There are local dealers doing business on Lazada. If you tick one of the boxes for location while doing your search you will be presented with only local businesses selling goods. Choose a store you know.

I ordered a Samsung microwave off Lazada which arrived today. It came from a local dealer, Siam TV, who I have dealt with for years. No doubt about the authenticity of the product.

Saved a trip in town to deal with traffic.

It's a hit or miss with Lazada for me. I'd rate them 80% (out of 100) since most of my purchases turned out OK with some (deliberate) mistakes by the seller.

Last month, I bought some 4 items in 1 order. 3 of them were correct, 1 was wrong color. I bet the seller had no more stock of my order & just placed another color.

Then just today, same situation. 4 items in 1 order. 2 correct, 2 wrong color. In this case, the seller sent an apologetic message that my preferred color wasn't available & sent a pic of the alternative.

For both cases, I just accepted the items since the effort (plus my transpo expenses) would be greater than the value of the items. The items are usable, I'm just irritated. It will pass. I gave them low/ bad reviews.

If it was a pricey item & they sent the wrong one, then I'll go through the irritating return/ refund process.

i ordered 2 tents on 3 jan they arrived at the phuket distribution centre and given to the delivery driver on 5 jan
its now the 8 jan and they still have not been delivered
When Kerry express were doing their deliveries here 95% of orders arrived within 48 hours of ordering from
    any shop anywhere in Thailand
LEX ( lazada express) and flash express are not express delivery services and never have been ever since they first started their businesses
local people inform me the delivery businesses are having a problem keeping their drivers who speak English
now the tourists are returning because there are lots of better paying jobs in tourism for people who can speak English

Same here in Isan. Kerry have always been very efficient. Recently the gf has been getting deliveries from other carriers and they are all not doing such a good job.

Do you get messages on the Lazada app saying the status of your order? I.e. Package arrived at sortation centre, package is out for delivery, etc? I get those on mine.

For me, 3-5 days delivery time is normal since I don't live in Metro Manila (equiv to BKK for you guys). As long as they deliver within their set period, it's good with me. If the product comes from China (have done that a few times), then it arrives in 2 to 3 weeks. They also send messages like: product has left origin country, product is going through customs, etc.

Btw, my packages (since 2018 when I started using Lazada) have mostly arrived via Lazada Express or LEX, around 95%. There was one package that arrived via a diff courier (forgot name) and it was for a slightly bigger item - a folding table. I'm OK with LEX & their service.

The return/ refund process is a bit of a bother, though. I have to go online to make the complaint (with pics), wait for the seller's response, get a bar code, then go to town to drop off the item at a courier's office. The office is a bit far so it depends on how I dislike the item as to whether I'll make the effort or not. There's also a time frame to make the return (7 days after receipt of item).

in Phuket there are regular news shows about the BIB confiscating fake items for sale in the markets and crushing them with a road roller
this regulation must only apply to the small privately owned businesses
i checked with big c if they sold Samsung tablets they do not but can sell me a apple tablet for 10k baht
which they claim is a genuine apple product, the price is much lower than apple store prices so how can it be a genuine product unless it fell of the back of a delivery truck
so buying something from a large well known business does not mean the item is not fake

I have to say, I'm not sure what the fuss is about. Then again, I'm in the sticks and don't expect much. I don't use internet shopping much but my wife does buy a few things online while we're here. She ordered some coffee from Bangkok on 3Jan. It arrived on the 7th, which is quick enough for us.

Plenty of other things to worry about...
