I gave him advice he took it and happy with result. Early on I could see this was turning into another TD shit fight so pretty much ignored comments that frankly added no advice at all.

    But wtf carry on gents.

Well it must be a miracle as you came on here and said (your words) that you knew fuk all and now you are an almost expert.
I think the brick would win an intelligence contest.
As for me not living hear (sic) I once again see you know fuk all. I have lived here for 12 years and been married to my Thai wife for 21 years but we lived in Aussie for 10 years before moving back here.
    So the brick wins again.

thanks mate the only sensible answer i received,if i wanted to install it myself which i do not i could google it and get a lot better information than supplied by this mob
when we get the next power outage i will test it out and see what the generator will actually run continuously without the breaker cutting in
should run everything we want to its the biggest of the three in that model of generator

Interesting methodology ... have you tried that with smoke alarms?

No need to test them regularly, just wait for a fire and, if they work ... they work.

If not ... mai pen rai

    For the sparkies out there....

I have an emergency light bulb in a normal socket in the ceiling. When the power goes out, the light comes on, even if the switch is off. How does the bulb know the difference between a power outage and the switch being off?

Though 'bizarre' is already an 'intense' adjective, and cannot be further intensified.

I would imagine it is connected to an emergency power supply via a hold-off relay.

i have used the generator in our living area, 8 light bulbs, 3 pedestal fans, 2 family size fridge freezers, 58 inch tv and 2 18 btu air conditioners all running of the generator with power to spare it uses a fair amount of fuel if using full power 25 litres in 10 hours but i have not run it at full power output and i doubt i ever will
the model down from the one i purchased should have been big enough to power most households and uses a lot less fuel

you are useless as a troll and have got your information about installing a generator from google and never actually done a installation yourself
i hope you know more about electrical installations than you do about tire pressures

a regular happening in phuket we have only had 2 half hour blackouts on the sane day since installing the generator
for a few years the electricity authority were cutting of the power regularly, we went thru a good period with no blackouts
now its returning to the way it was with sometimes 8 hours with no power

not being a qualified electrician i leave electrical installations to people qualified to do the job
having lived in rural Australia for many years you learn to do a lot of things including minor electrical repairs , it costs a lot of money to have a tradesman travel 100s klm to do a job, they mostly will tell you by phone how to fix your problem
one of my mates growing up ended up working as a linesman for the state electricity commission of western Australia and died from electrcution
i think i now know more about installing a generator than most people getting their information from google and posting it here as their own

    'tire pressures' ? ...

Personally, I would have mentioned Tyre Pressures ... much more relevance to installing a domestic electricity generator ...

what a mob of trolls, read my original post i asked for recommendations for a local qualified electrician as recommended by the generator manufacturer to install the necessary wiring to connect the generator to the household electrical system
at no time did i ask the regular trolls who stalk on teak door for information on how to install the generator myself i am not a qualified electrician as recommended by the manufacturer
Looper and Norton were the only people who posted information that was useful to me which i appreciated,Nortons suggestion especially as i used the tradesman recommended by him
you can buy a special two way switch available from Bison on order or buy two normal breaker switches available from gobal house and other retailers which i did
no difference in turning two switches of and on than one and easy to replace if you ever need to
    quick and simple fix
two heavy duty power points installed on the outside wall of the house connected to the man power board thru a breaker switch plus another hd breaker switch to cut of the mains power before the power board
i also changed the Chinese power board for a high quality one made by a reputable manufacturer with a 12year warranty
