    Phuket checkpoint

I have not given the truck a decent run for a long time so decided to take a drive to Kao Lak
Arrived at the check point at 8.50 am and the waiting vehicles line was about 1klm long
Took me 20 minutes to reach the U turn point which was approx 2oo meters away
By then the waiting vehicles were as far back as the shell service station

The weather on Phuket today is atrocious, heavy rain and localised flooding. If it's raining here it's typically worse in Phang Nga. Not a day for a recreational road trip.

I've been told the requirement for the experimental MrNA trial injectable has been dropped but is there still testing? I've had as many answers to this as people I've asked. I don't want to be stuck in Phang Nga, lovely as it is, nor hauled away due to a false 'positive'. Anyone crossed lately?

as long as you are fully vaccinated and have it in you phone they just check it and you drive straight thru only our grandchildren have to do the test as they are not vaccinated and it costs 200 baht each for them and takes 15 minutes, been thru twice now with no problems
