Last time I was there ( a long time ago) I played pool with a young Canadian couple who said they were thinking of suing their travel agent because he's promised them it wouldn't rain in December.

    They were deadly serious.

Sounds like you need a hobby sport
Went up there to check out the area as we have not been there before, Phuket beaches are a lot nicer, especially Nai Harn beach
No vendors to hassle people there, or grumpy old farts

That is a memory of Patong beach in 2005.
The tide was in and the beach vendors outnumbered the tourists, so much that the tourist couldn't get on the beach.
If you bought of one then they bothered you all day
The jet ski mafia would ride up really close to people swimming and seemed oblivious to the dangers.
The other beaches in Phuket were Ok, but nothing compared to the pristine beauty of Australian beaches.

Should a mod really be stalking posters around the forum?

I mean, OK you're making a complete tit of yourself in the attempt, but still....

If I was a mod you'd be in jail permanently for your continually trolling of threads.
Tells us more about this Canadian couple, it's really fascinating...zzz

    What a tit

I bet you lost the game of pool as well.

Every few years people cry and moan..But the numbers increase ...
Whats so good about Kamala, its a place we just drive thru when going to another destination, have stopped to have a look around in the past but not any more

Not much of a comparison really mate, Australia is a huge island with excellent beaches on most of the coast and only about 24M people to use them
In the northwest of WA is the 80 mile beach with hardly anyone swimming there and even on the really busy beaches there is no rubbish left behind by the swimmers because there are always public rubbish bins available
You find beach vendors on the majority of beaches in Asia its not only Thailand, not many now on Phuket since the army sorted things out except for a few at Patong beach
