    Pool chemical supplies in Phuket

If you buy pool chemicals the cheapest place to buy them i have found is on Choafo west rd same side as Wat Chalong and about 3oo to 400 meters west
50KG of 90% granulated chlorine 3800 baht, 50KG of aluminum sulfate 500 baht, 50KG of soda ash 850 baht, same price the last 2 times i have bought it, it may have gone up slightly in price but its still much cheaper than elsewhere, i have seen pool servicing companies buying their supplies from the same business

In WW1 they used mustard gas which is another name for chlorine gas, You have to be very careful handling granulated chlorine because of the small amount of powder in it as i have found out myself, its a acid dangerous to get on your skin or breath in the dust or fumes
I have not seen anyone selling the large quantities i am talking about online, 50KG bags and containers work out a lot cheaper
I was quoted up to 6800 Baht for 50KG on chlorine before i found my current supplier

For anyone who may be interested i have switched to using 3 inch chlorine tablets supplied by the same shop at 5800 baht for 50KG, much easier to use and safer to handle

I use chlorine mainly for iron extracting from strongly ironized ground water - before it is let into the storage system. Then, for swimming pool only scarcely, a spoon dispersed in 60 m3 once a week, in order to kill bad bacterias. After all, we are in tropical country. And also added a bit in my large storage system where the water lays for week(s).

And the chlorine is anorganical, not so strong as the organical chlorine as mentioned above (granulated, Japanese) and not with added cyanuric acid for resistance against sunshine radiation. The rising CY level (that will not be reduced with time unlike the chlorine) makes a problem for further chlorine effectivity. That's why the pool experts advise to exchange often the water, the best all of it.

The anorganical chlorine I buy in a chemical shop, not really a specialized for swimming pools. There I buy also a Copper Sulphate for protection against algae, all that much cheaper than in a pool shop.

In all pool shops they will scare you from using CS. Of course, its main danger is that it is so cheap, it does not need daily looking after chlorine level, neither caring about pH that mostly has to be lowered by pH minus (for better chlorine effectivity). All this is a good business for the pool shops.

Difference of the source water (in the sedimentation tank) and the end use water:
