A friend has his 2 children in hospital at the moment being treated for Dengue.

His son contracted Dengue whilst studying in Bangkok and his daughter picked it up in Pattaya.

    Seems to be nationwide.

OK, surprise at 2 cases because it seldom happens there is understandable. But there should not be surprise that one case followed another in the same mooban if one understands how the vector works. Perhaps a wording mix-up.

Hmmm, I think you may be getting mixed up with something else. The dengue vaccine is still in the testing phase and was only developed last year in (I think) Japan. Being tested in PI. Effectively, there is no vaccine currently.

Not correct - at all. The vaccine (Dengvaxia) is commercially available in several countries (including Thailand). However, it is currently under question for several reasons. And it was produced by Sanofi, which I think are French.

As a after though there is no dengue fever vaccine approved for use in Australia at present, i asked my daughters husband who is a medical doctor there
I remember a anti inflammatory that was approved there at one stage and it was taken of the market because it was causing heart attacks even after being properly tested to Aussie standards
The drug company's use developing countries to test their new drugs because they cannot do the same thing in developed countries

Interesting read for those that are interested, they say 75 % of people with the virus show no or few symptoms.
That would mean for every person sick, 3 are infected, hard to stop the spread with out getting rid of the mossies.

As I am peter. It is a nasty disease. They don't call it breakbone fever for nothing. I have had it 3 times. About all you can do is stay hydrated and drugged for pain. Everything hurts.

OK...I just remember reading about a trial and breakthrough vaccine last year. Maybe a better version and I misread the gist of that?
Do you know what the questions about it are?

It seams you are not allowed to add to the reputation of posters on Teakdoor whom with you agree if you do not add to the reputations of people you do not agree with
Well back luck to the mobs, you are going the same way as Thaivisa who allow the trolls/stalkers to take over there form who contribute no useful information about living in Thailand or Thai people and use these anonymous forums to promote their own businesses with out paying for advertising on them, this mainly applies to Thaivisa of course
People like Luigi are fine with me i find his posts funny not aggressive , ban me if you want to i certainly will not lose any sleep if you do

You have to spread the love before you an go back and repo the same person. Nothing says it has to be someone you disagree with.

    Just spread the love.

Peter, Nid is explaining but using TD vernacular. He's neither a troll nor a mod (as far as I know).
What he's saying is that once you have given repo to a member, you can not give repo to that member again until you have repo'ed 20 other members. Repo can be positive or negative.
"Spreading the love" is giving greens.

Quite simply this Peter, you can't add to the reputation of other posters twice or more before doing the same to others, nothing preventing you from giving someone an appreciative comment.

Be careful Peter, you have a reputation for turning aggressive with posters whom you don't agree, which could lead you to be put in the 'Dog House' with it's limited posting options.

Let me guess. Your "career" has involved a lot of heavy lifting.

Anyway, to exemplify, i just tried to green manaam for his post. I cannot. I need to repo other members before i can come back to him. The repo i spread to others can be positive or negative, it is the number that is important, not the positive or negative.

Simple enough for you, you muppet?

But is he a mob though? You've gotta be wary of an anonymous mob.
