Best air conditioner service man in 7 years

Since buying our house 7 years ago we have tried a few different air conditioner servicing firms and not been able to find one that is reasonably prices , knows what they are doing and do a excellent job, now things have changed

We had are 4 air conditioners serviced today by a new company for us but not new in the business who was recommended by one of our neighbors
They use chemicals to clean the units, first time ever any company has used anything except high pressure water to clean our aircon units the boss man told me using high pressure water cleaners at maximum pressure can and does on occasions damage the air conditioning unit and the chemicals frees the dirt build up so they can reduce the pressure of the. water and still clean the air conditioner properly

He charges only 450B a unit which is a lot cheaper than the 600B a unit we have been paying companies previously, they have 2 work crews but are always busy so you need to book a few days in advance

The name of the business is J AIR SERVICE phone no is 080-3278869

Yes, this was a bold move by peterc cranking up an air con servicing thread.

The TD aircon servicing thread bar has been set pretty high peter so I hope you will be bringing your best game!

Thanks for the Link loop. Surprised Tez was worried about legionella as it is dormant below 20°C and therefore not a problem on indoor cooling coils which typically run around 7°C. Fungal spores are more of a problem. There are some coil sprays that can be applied and as the water naturally condenses on the cooling coil it will wash off the spray and drain away. This can be done by DIY handyman. If it is badly caked on manual cleaning may be necessary. Generally alkaline cleaners are better as acidic cleaners tend to corrode the alumnium coil fins more.
If you wish to DIY. It is best done with a dry coil. So if the unit is off in the day, before starting do the following:
Lift the cooling unit cowl. Most cowls normally lift up. This will expose the filter and coil.
Remove filters and wash with water under a tap (faucet) and shake off water when cleaned.
Get a small dust pan and brush and brush the coil in horizontal strokes to remove dirt from between fins.
Replace filters, lower cowl and turn on. Clean every 3 months or every month in very dusty locations.
I can recommend a company but should point out it is owned by Lady Cow's brother who is an authorised Panasonic and Mitsubishi service agent.
I have pointed out before that I (and Lady Cow) have a small refrigeration and airconditioning wholesale business but we are only involved in selling airconditioning units, refrigeration units and parts.
I myself am in the Refrigeration and Airconditioning Industry and am always happy to offer free advice on design, engineering and service to TD members.

...a) are they located in bkk? (I don't know landline prefixes)...
    b) we are currently using NokAir a/c cleaning service at B500 apiece for our units: high water pressure cleaning, but efficient work and not too, too messy...

Had a brilliant aircon bloke, 300 bt/unit/full service, shared him with a friend in need who screwed up by sharing him with dozens of others, now he charges 600 and either turns up or doesn't.

Always have had a problem with air conditioner servicing people like electricians and pool service people, they start of with good service and arriving on time then as their business improves seem to think they can turn up when they want to or not at all and increase their prices
J AIR Service was recommended to my wife by one of her friends in our village who was having the same sort of problems with air conditioner service people, before and after high pressure water cleaning our units they sprayed chemicals on them to assist in the cleaning and then stop any smells, 3 different types

He told my wife and i believe him that they are servicing between 30 t0 40 air conditioners a day, we had to wait 5 days before they could clean and service ours, also i have been running the inverter air cons in our living area on Auto as this was recommended by Samsung's installer, the new bloke recommended running them on cool as they will last longer and use less electricity, the outside units do not seem to be running for as long a time now as before and i will know when we get our next electricity bill if he is right, but i already believe he is

Inverter units are meant to have the compressor running all the time but the speed is controlled by an inverter/VFD which means instead of stopping and starting which uses extra power each time it starts up and is more damaging to bearings, it will vary the frequency which will vary the power to speed up/down the compressor motor which is a more efficient mode of operation.

I think the Chevy vehicle airconditioner uses a varied speed also rather than a start stop clutch

I read about inverters running all the time as well, we also have a fridge with a inverter unit, both aircons and fridge seem to stop and start you cannot hear them operating anyway, With the aircons on Auto the outside compressor units kept running for a period of time after the inside unit was turned of, when running on cool setting both inside and outside units stop working at the same time it seems
