So thats the second time ive been robbed on Phuket and easily the 5th or 6th time Lb,s have used the hit,n,run go for the pockets technique on me personally.

Gone down Patong with a mate to meet some friends here on holiday and after the Tiger disco fire , all bars and clubs are shut in patong 2am for the time being.

So , it wasnt late , I wasnt wasted or drug fuc*ed at around 1.30 when we headed back to the bikes parked in the soi directly opposite Bang na when 3 Lb's come out of nowhere and in less than 10 seconds had my wallet and were gone.

No I didnt get a 10 second blowjob and yes I was probably a tad rude cos I hate the thieving lowlife sphinkter abusers.
Hope they all get pizza poisoning.

A mate used to live above Chang Pub (north soi parallel to Bang na) years ago , we would waste a lot of time on the street tables out front to the early hrs , Lb's would quite often be trying it on well after the bars are closed , so yeah Ive probably had a bit more unwanted attn than the average punter

First time I was robbed in Phuket was 5 years ago in Laguna , sat down for a beer late afternoon and woke up 11pm in the same chair minus my wallet. Sure I was drugged as bar staff had not left a bin , and I didnt remember even having company at the table.

Its all good advise not to take any valuables going out in any nightlife areas anywhere in the world , usually I wouldnt take even an Atm card out with me but riding from phuket town over the hill to patong in the pissing rain wasnt part of the plan either!
Anyways is done.
These guys are very proffesional opportunistic thieves and having lived here long enough , sure , its an embarrasment that I let my guard down.

If it saves just one punter his fold being reminded by my stupidity then jobs done.

Yep, don't ever use a wallet when going out places like that (personally I never use a wallet anywhere) and for God's sake do not have a big chain hanging down your trouser leg, that just looks real farmer Joe, or wannabe tough guy biker thingy moronic IMO .

Spread your important things around in closed buttoned/zipped pockets so your main money, and cards/licence/passport etc. (don't bring more of these last things than you absolutely need for the task at hand) are not all in the same pockets, and difficult to snatch for a pickpocket.

Leave a small amount of ready cash in an open shirt breast pocket for beer, and as clear bait for the nasty touchy feel grope pickpockets and robbers.

Most times they are in a rush and don't have time to search you thoroughly.

Back in the UK I lived in a not very nice part of South London, Peckham. Whenever I left the house to go to work, the shop or into town I carried a 1/2 inch scaffolding box spanner normally in my back right hand jeans pocket. Anybody that knows anything about scaffolding knows it is a nice, heavy and substantial weapon. As a scaffolder I had an excuse to be carrying this at any time as I simply stated I had just got a job where they had some 1/2 inch fittings so had just borrowed this from a friend or was on my way to work or to return it.
6 Times I was approached by a coloured local waving a knife asking for my phone / wallet etc. I made all the Ok, Ok sounds whilst reaching for what they thought was my wallet. What they actually got was the spanner shattering their wrist and then their heads followed by lots of kicks and curses.
never once in all my travels around Thailand have I ever been in the slightest bit concerned for my safety.
