    A Visit to Jatujak Market

    I love Jatujak.

    Great place for photographs.

Here are a few from my last visit.

Some have been slightly *POPPED* but nothing else.

    Canon 30D.

Two lenses, one is the 24-105 L IS, and the other is a 100mm macro, which is great fun and has a depth of field at 2.8 of about 2mm.

    Nice pics, Bob.

Don't the stall owners get the arse if you take pictures of their merchandising?

I have never been there- I'm not much of a shopper.
But an amazing place- you can find anything there.
Friends of ours from Bkk went last weekend, and picked up a single hub cap for my 1994 Audi (one had fallen off recently). Dead simple.

I really should go one day, but it will be with some trepidation.

I usually ask, that said i spent a lot of money in one of the shops so he gave me carte blanche to snap away for a while.

There's a branch of Chatuchak (or Jatujak) at Bangsaen. Took a while to take off but it's not too bad now. Still not a patch on the original though. I think the original Chatuchak is still the largest flea market in the world.

^They also tried to get a branch going on Rama 3 but it never really took off...although I should qualify that by saying that it's a year or so since I actually went off the road into the market there...

bought my first fish tank and fish from there ...

you're gamer than me BC: I hate shopping and the thought of spending some free days wandering around what could well be the hottest place in Bangkok does not appeal...so appreciate your pics all the more...

I have been going to JJ market for at least 10 years now no longer the bargain spot it used to be but people who set up on the street outside along the skytrain route have some interesting items.

I just adore the place, I can spent 7 or 8 hours trundling around, always something new to see. My kids refuse to come with me now, even my eldest who loves it seems to be washing his hair on the days I go.

I like taking guests there, I took a guy recently who was a photographer for Lonely Planet, he taught me loads that day. In fact it was that trip that finally inspired me to invest in a decent camera.

Wish i'd taken these shots in RAW.

I'd like to do some night shots at the klong toei food market on Rama IV, anyone been?

Great pics Bob, long time since I've been there but it's not so nice on a very hot day when it's busy.

    What does *POPPED* mean? Photoshopped?

Oh and I'm kinda sad like that, hotter the better I'll walk around there, it's like an endurance test, gym and sauna in one.

i did rather stupidly nearly kill my 80 year old mother by taking her there though.

    Brilliant pics Bob.

If you want to do night pics, why not the Big Flower Market? Some great stuff down there.

great pics taken with great equipment. canon 30D with those 2 lenses... especially the macro one is too sweet.
completely out of my budget atm though, happy with 150£ panasonic fz7 all-in-one.

If the depth of field is from the original pics and not a Photoshop masking job, top pics. If it is from Photoshop, nice shopping.
