A clattering of yellow-tailed black cockatoos descended on my forest today.
Weird looking and sounding birds.

Very nice Loops, will post up some of my wildlife shots when I get a chance.
^ no one wants to see drunk Manc slappers on a nite out bud
Top pics them are Loop. What camera and settings?
Here is teh camera Dill.
A most righteous and bodacious vintage OMD EM-5 Mki (camera of the year 2012) and that is the lens - the very affordable but reasonably sharp M Zuiko 40-150mm
Had it on +3 stops overexposure to compensate for the bright sky background.
The EM5 has an M43 sensor which has a 2:1 crop factor so that translates the lens to 80-300mm in the old money.
I used to use my old Canon 1000D SLR with the solid 55-250mm for nature shooting. With the APS-C crop factor of 1.6:1 that gives the old canon a seemingly better reach of 88-400mm ... but ... the EM5 has a 16MP sensor which means that once the photo is cropped to match the 1000Ds old school 10MP resolution the reach is as near identical as makes no difference as far as I can see.
The EM5 ships with a high quality 12-50mm zoom which has a really good macro feature for shooting bugs and critters.
This caterpillar is only 15mm long.

Nice texture contrast with the grass blades or rice or whatever it is.
There are a few egrets on the lake near my place. I love watching the way they move when they are stalking their prey.
A ladybird..
A thirsty small horse..
Wild geese attacking me on one of my bike rides..
Probably one of my fav pics!
A Herring..
^ A heron. You need an underwater camera for a herring!
^^top shots Mr Chitty
They are aggressive coonts those geese.
MM wants geese pics for facebook when the gaggle hoves into view
The geese look a lot bigger when you get closer so she does the shoot from behind the safety of the passenger door.
They blockade her access to the lakeside so she stays in the car.
We went canoeing later on the same lake but the geese spotted us as we paddled past and quickly mounted an improvised amphibious attack, leaping in from the 5 foot high bank.
cocky - stopped the car - him and his mates started yelling at me.
Steppe Polecats- cute fellows but I am informed by nomads they are bitey and aggressive. They can easily take down a marmot and take over its burrow.
^^Noisy fookers they be
^gorgeous coats. 2 of them would make a great pair of slippers.
Good pics, thanks.
Not sure what's allowed here... Didn't actually take these myself, but was part of the 'team' involved I guess.
A wolffish (steinbit) taken up residence under a concrete mattress (covering a pipeline).
These guys can crush shellfish with their teeth, but taste great if you're willing to risk your fingers.
