Australian Cormorant. There are several species, I think the Aussie slag name for them all is shag.

Don't recall ever seeing one before.

But it let me get close enough for me crappy Samsung's focus to become ineffective.

    ^Very pretty Lui

I was joined in my study tonight by a small guest.

My furry friend was dispatched by a clubbing with a king size pepper mill.

Having recently watched Alone Season 5 I was curious how much nutrition he would contain.

    Mouse or rat?

I think it might have been a mouse.

    Mouse tail:

Big ears and pointy nose (rats have small ears and a blunt nose)

I think I need to clean the camera lens.

Anyway ... the closest I've ever got to a Pteropus poliocephalus (grey headed Fruit Bat/Flying Fox)

Photographed through a double pane of glass with two very excited 5yo's bouncing around.

Not my video, but this is them in flight ...
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

The magpies have been fed a little over the years, just to keep them friendly.

I can hand feed to parents. They bring their young 'uns into our garden.

    Still haven't cleaned that lens!

Mum on the left. Baby with mouth open

Again, not my video, but a common sound in my backyard for probably the next month or two ...

A couple of geckos getting it on in our kitchen.
