I think it's pretty clear that I wasn't saying anything about skin colour or ethnicity.
Pretty sure you'll find Jesus wasn't white either, unless the virgin birth just got even weirder...

The person who did that piece probably thought it was ''far out'' ''cool man'' ''trippy'' or ''hippyish''
They should project a bunch of flashing images on it and blast some rave tunes.
I don't believe a bonafide artist would come up with such shit
What's a bonafide artist though? All things to all people innit.
^
Someone who puts 100% into a project rather than the 30% thrown at that abomnation masquerading as art.
They must have had far better pieces but being Australia I'm betting the artist was a transgender obese ethnic disabled muslim refugee
It actually is quite trippy (although I did have a bit of a hangover).
So what were you saying:-
The bloke who did the Piss Christ was white (but presumably not a Christian). The bloke who did the greco-roman Buddha was an Asian (but possibly not a Buddhist).
Neutral spectators often silently approve of Piss Christ because 'Christianity is fair game' for artists to be provocative but it seems like the same people bristle when they see Buddha being given an artistic take (even an inoffensive one) since Buddhism is a 'special' religion that 'intelligent' people are allowed to revere (even though they otherwise claim not to hold religion in any esteem).
Very nice Bobo, cheers.
Is that inside yer house?
One picture of King #5 is enough.
OK, found a few more from an old Nepal trip when we only had 1 megapixel cameras.
Prayer wheels and flags still in the foothills. This was an "Around Manasaul, Annapurna and Dhaliguiri long trek we did back in 2000.
Below: Same trip: A little higher up. I believe this one is from Dhampus pass on the Around Dhaliguiri portion. Next time we went to Nepal, we weren't allowed in this area because of a war going on and we learned that 273 people had been killed where we had intended to go. (town of Beni if I remember correctly)
Anyway, here's the Dhampus pass picture complete with prayer flags. (a deeply religious country, especially the mountain people)
Frickin 1 megpixel cameras take pretty good pictures when your in a place like the Himalaya.
Damn, great stuff! Cheers lads.
That's a lovely shot toslti.
Blue Temple Chiang Rai
^ Very nice pic cheers.
Kinda looks like something from an acid trip.
I think Punty's been to this one
^I won't ask you for proof that he was really there
^^ et Voila Jimbo, was there last October
^ Very nice Sir. Thanks.
I especially like the 1st one. (And third one.)
Very nice. Cheers.
It would be great to see mosque and other Middle Eastern shots, with the shapes, colours and materials they use, as well as the light that Middle-East evenings produce.
So far we've seen Thailand, Laos, Japan, Turkey, Nepal, Australia, England, Scotland, France, Malaysia, and Cyrille complaining.
Cheers Teakdoorians. Good show for the first 3 days.
Cheers, some outstanding architecture in Liverpool.
Did a thread on it last year if your interested. ..

I've managed to get internet access on the laptop at last and the rain has abated long enough for an upload.
First is Sant'Anatasia church in Verona, with Sanmicheli's bell tower sneaking into view:
That's the first real view of Verona my wife had as we crossed the bridge into the city and she fell in love with the place. Taken in Summer 2014 and had tickets to see Aida at the Arena. A must for anyone that visits Verona IMO, even if you hate opera.
The next is San Martino church on the island of Burano Venice, taken at the end of October last year:
It took a while to decide which religious photo to take from Venice, so many to choose from, but in the end I decided on a bit of colour. We had some pretty good weather considering it was late October/ early November.
I love Lincoln cathedral but can't find the photos and it looks grey in comparison.
