My present camera, a Nikon Coolpix 7100,

has served me well for three years, its compact, fully featured and ergonomically excellent, no need to go delving into menus every minute, most of the features are accessible via buttons and wheels on the body. Good for those who like to adjust and tweak.

The only drawback is the optical viewfinder, which is tiny and basically crap. The back screen is fine, but virtually unusable outdoors in bright light. I prefer using viewfinders to screens anyway, but optical viewfinders without information displays have severe limitations.

I need a camera with a very good live view electronic viewfinder being the most important feature, an aps-c size sensor, 24mm to at least 50mm (35mm equiv) fast zoom or 35mm prime are other needs

I dont want an SLR. Too bulky, too much kit.

I carry a camera around most of the time, it must have customizable buttons or dials and be pocketable or able to fit into a smallish bag.
Portraits, street photos on the fly and landscape mostly, need to fit some filters over the lens as well.

The camera that has taken my fancy at the moment is the Sony a-6000, with a 24-75mm zoom. It is looking the most suitable for my needs so far, although one drawback is that it only comes with a USB charging cable, meaning an extra battery or charger will need to be purchased as well. (Maybe I could use my Sony phone plug in USB charger..... do these things all work on the same amperage for charging???)

It costs 28,000B, a bit more than I want to spend really although I can get a 15% discount from Sony, but for what it is it seems quite good value.

Any suggestions or recommendations around the 18,000b-20,000b price range ?
