Buyer beware but I'm sure it's possible.

    Island For Sale-a4547ee967601edf76c93ba7163615ed-jpg

Years ago I knew a bar owner in subic who did indeed own a small island in the olongapo region and through a bit of skulduggery converted that island into a fully fledged nation of the Republic of chessadik
And sold passports to the Chinese (,he was not short on ideas this guy) the farangs in town knew what was going on and had a bit of a snicker. Where's the harm?
It was reffered to as the Republic of cheesy dick. Anyway the Filipinos knew it was a crock to but let it play out long enough for a good pay day. That guy done about 6 months in immigration jail and self deported. Quote a good scam I thought. He was way ahead of the Nigerians.

He promised to headbutt me, if he ever saw me. Charming.

I guess that my solution would be that he 'never saw me'.

Just think, the pool might be remarkably similar to yours.

How on earth can one 'self deport'?

I can gladly provide you many fascinating snippets of info I've gleaned in what I can only describe as action packed lifestyle.a bit tame these days though. Tefling was never an option. I can speak English but my writing of it made sure I didn't end up a Tefler. THANK Fook

    ^ I see no downsides.

If I had the money I would love to live on an island with my dogs and chickens, happily ever after.

So long as it had decent Wifi.

    ^^Well, you know the downsides.

    You know everything.

You're looking to prove it yet again.

A sure sign of a contented person.

^You'd still need to keep your passports current, obvs.

Other than no infrastructure (water, electricity, housing, internet, waste disposal) there isn't.

There's an island at the south end of the island I'm on that has a big A-frame house with solar on it. I think it's only 12 million pesos or so. Right now it's a airbnb sort of thing, but the owners are wanting to sell.

Well thank you Ciz for that very well thought out and informative reply.
I’m a bit busy just now, but I will get back to you once I have finished picking the fluff from my bellybutton.

^^The biggest danger is that the 'owner' doesn't have genuine title.

I thought that a weekly passport run was a given?

You are very much a glass half empty person, Topper.

Many years ago when I was still courting Ms Mendip, we spent a bit of time amongst the islands off Rayong... I forget their names now, Koh this and that. Maybe it wasn't even Rayong. Anyway, while looking at the rocky outcrops surrounding the islands I said to my missus to be, how I would love to live on such a little rocky island, completely isolated from the hassles of life, with a few dogs for company and eating whatever I caught from the sea that day. She replied, something along the lines of, 'well I fucking wouldn't'.

I should have listened to those warning signals 20 years ago.

I spent a long time dreaming on this website back around 2005-2006

Private Islands Inc - Islands for Sale and Rent

Back then they had islands in the Fils starting from $30k for a small 2000-4000 m2 with no water or power in some remotish backwater

You cannot have freehold title in Fils so you had to rig up some shonky title arrangement then fork out for getting power and water

Prices seem to have gone up a bit since then as the cheapest listing is for $650k

Islands for Sale in Philippines, Asia

On reflection I am not sure that I would have enjoyed being on an island.

I have been learning the chords and lyrics for The Boxer this week so I might give this whirl from the Simon and Garfunkel catalogue
