    Pattaya Pie and Curry Shop

Pattaya has a new pie shop, it also does Indian curries and pizza of all things, all for takeaway, but it is hard to find.

So you are on Thepprasit Road facing Soi 5, as you can see in the photo it is a confusion of roads, left one goes to Sukhumvit, middle one goes to what seems backs of the houses of a small residential estate, you want the right hand side one which is Soi 5/1, down there 50 meters on the left is the shop, no signs but the window is sign written.

They do all the normal Brit pies, they do stuff like chicken madras by the 5kilo for 900baht, even tandoori chicken at 250baht per kilo, the pizzas are 7inch and cost 90baht each.

Anyway here is my steak and mushroom pie, cost me 65baht as I got it at trade for being so young and handsome, normal price is 75baht, supposedly it has a minimum weight of 280grams, but this thing you could have attacked people with, pretty damn good.

The pie hasn't expanded, it is full to the top.

They do wholesale so they should do, if they relied on passing trade they would be lucky to get 1 customer per week.

I went there today. I am pleased there was a photo with the description of location as it really isn't finder friendly. There wasn't a large selection because somebody had been in yesterday and bought a job lot which the woman was trying to replenish so the apple crumble with have to wait until next week.
So far I have eaten the Beef Madras which was very nice and I have a cornish pasty ready to eat tomorrow lunch time. Thanks Dirtydog for this find

Sounds like what used to be Big Joes English Food to me. Sadly Big Joe died in an accident but I am pretty sure that this is where they were operating from. As for flaky pastry - bloody hard to do in a hot climate!

If I happened to be on Theppasit near Soi Khaopai and was starving to death and it was the only place open I would give it a try.

Ask for curry puffs and you'll get what you're asking for.

I remembered your post and went there today, they do a chicken balti pasty, this beast is like half a kilo and around 70baht I think, first time I ever tried one, well not one, I cut it in half as it was way too big, got to admit they are nice, the thought of a curry pasty was a bit off putting at first, but glad I tried it, will buy them again.

Looking at their product list on the top of the page it says big Joes style pies, so your probably right.

I got there the other day whilst she was baking the chicken and mushroom pies. A nice, still warm, one of those for lunch followed by the chicken balti pasty, that would be all of it and not a measly girly half, for my evening meal. What a day, 0 grains of rice consumed.
