True, Pattaya is a high class sex tourist destination, and I should know.

If I were to swim in the sea at Pattaya (and I never have, although I lived there three years) It would either be down the far end of Jomtien, or at one of the small beaches on the Pratamnak headland. And I would never swim after recent rain. The sea in Pattaya is far from great- but then again neither is the sea at Batu Ferringhi in Penang, Patong (found to have high levels of E. Coli) or many other places. I would sooner swim in Sydney Harbor than any of these places.

I was on Sydney Harbout about 1 month ago and you could see metres down and there was heaps of fish. In fact I was shocked about how clean the water was compared to when I left Oz over 20 years ago.

A great example of Thailand in general. Not enough infrastructure to handle the amount of traffic.

I live quite close to the biggest waste water plant in Pattaya and it has not been upgraded in the last 10 years yet the number of people living in the area has grown 100 fold.

Without going into to much detail I have had senior council officials stand in front of me and admit they have allowed whole communities to pipe their sewerage pipes directly into the storm water systems and those pipes go nowhere near the waste water treatment plants.

This water ends up flowing into Pattaya Bay, everyone knows it including the TAT and the hotel association.

I for one have never tried to insult you but the powers at be must do something about the problem.

Everyone in Pattaya knows there is a problem and that's why not one person I know who lives here will go anywhere near the beaches nor knowingly eat any fish that has been taken from the waters around Pattaya.

For those wishing to visit Pattaya drive about 10 Kilometers south of Pattaya and for a safer swim.
sounds like a bunch of rumors and hearsay to me.

How could the biggest project in Pattaya history be underbuilt in 10 years ? It doesn't add up.

Why wouldn't the hotel association want the water clean ?

Fuck me, I won't even paddle in it.
of course you wont, because you are a believer in the bullshit.

So if you where a part owner of half of the hotels on the beach, you wouldn't care if the beach was clean ?

there is a reason people like you are not in business...If you cant get this one right then you cant get any of them right.

I work for Statoil in the Canadian oil sands. The amount of time and money these heavy oil operators spend on the environment is unreal, yet the same old oil sands bullshit rumors go around. No diffrent then this

I do know that during a big rain storm once, looking from the 41st floor of the Metro there was some pretty nasty septic sewerage coming out of what I assumed was the offshore outfall.
I wouldn't go in that water for anything.
just another believer of the urban myth bullshit. Looking from the 41st floor, you concluded that it was raw sewage.

I was at a part of one of the dirty ass canals in BKK and i seen huge swarms of fish.

As if you did a water sample. Pattaya can do no right AUS can do no wrong. Go move there.

I guarantee he doesn't work for security judging on his latest fuckwit remark on why would you stop a guy checking into a hotel with a blade tucked in his waist.

I reckon he's a cleaner, sat there now cleaning someones office and polishing his cock while trolling on their PC

All large cities design for a "normal" amount of treatment to sewage. All cities/countries allow for the exceptional amounts and allow raw sewage to be "disposed" of into the water courses - rivers or seas.

Yep, that includes Sydney, London, Beijing, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo. Most countries work towards reducing these discharges to the sea and rivers, some more than others.

Pretty swimmable all the way up to the bridge these days. Even the sharks like it and took a navy divers hand off at garden island 2 years ago.

Not after street vendor kebab - best to back out something solid as you don't want to be engulfed in a brown cloud of your own Ghandi's revenge.

Socal, like your good self, the Japs have a huge amount of shite to get rid of.

So much so, they have found a way to take all the protein and turn it into meat

The next time you come back to Pattaya, and the beach is spotless, be wary of "Donor Kebab" Stalls

What does it matter if the beach is clean or not anyway, who goes to Pattaya for the beach? Even if it was an unspoilt tropical paradise beach the rest of South Pattaya is still a stinking shithole full of degenerate dribbling dicks.

    Chiswick's Local Web site

"Shocking new figures showing that more than 1 million cubic metres of raw sewage was pumped into the Thames during the storms at the end this June have been revealed.

The figures, obtained from the Environment Agency, show that between the 24th June and the 29th June 2005, 1,033,000 cubic metres of untreated sewage was dumped into the river due to the inability of London's sewers to cope with the storms that hit the capital in the last week in June."
