Why would they abandon it? They still have their cement works there for their other projects, obviously it aint the time to start building Thailands tallest building at this time. And the land don't eat nothing so they may aswell use it.

Last week I noticed some cement mix trucks entering the site maybe it's "rising from the ashes"? Anyone know?
In the mean time the bar complex next to the market down the new Sai 2 has about 30 establishments and building at least another 12 with no end in sight. In a few years this could be a mongers paradise with direct baht bus connection to Pattaya.

Story told to me was at project conception lots of units were sold to falangs, but then the developer hit money problems and couldnt progress it.

Also told the JCC and vt7 fiasco hit ocean 1 exceptionally hard in that who wants to buy into an expensive top end condo with sea views, and then have some other joker build another one right in front of it.

Building other projects my hole

They are still building other contracts, I know the sub contractors and they are still being paid, the sub contractors are Thai, so they would be the first ones to be stiffed if it was all going belly up.

I saw the posters for this building in the windows of the pattaya properties office when I was in Jomtien.

Heard some talk of the chineses putting up the money to get it going.

Most likely all bollox, especially in view of the track record and dodgy practices of pattaya props and SBE. Even heard they sold on all the title deeds from a development and left the guys who bought them high and dry!!!

Like I said before, who is going to buy an expensive condo in that place. when view talay will come along and build another one right slap bang in front of it.

2nd road has been more or less finished from Pattaya, through Jomtien, and on to Suhkumvit.
