Mosquito bar in Khlong Toey had bands on and dancers before anyone else. I'm not saying those pictures were taken then or there as I don't know, but just correcting your thought that there was no where like it at the time.

Interesting, EN. Guess not many GI's found that area back then, I certainly didn't. Looks like it was more of a Merchant Marine place. I stand corrected.

There's a load of these over on ' rough guide to Bangkok ' but you need 50 posts to view them.

Don Muang 1959, this would be about one kilometer east of my house. the plane is landing north to south and the view is from the west. Wpw.

Wat Don Muang, 1960 The Amari Airport hotel, and the Don Muang train station would be a few hundred meters down to the left. The temple is opposite Don Muang International terminal.

She looks like she would be a sweet girl. Not a knockout in the looks dept., but has good hearted look - often making a Thai girl a 10 out of 10.

Oh dear, Koojo. A hairless spheroid such as you should know better than to make silly comments such as that.

I found a few pics of Thailand that were taken during the Vietnam War. The bar girls shown are from Korat and others of GIs around the country. If I were to have served in Vietnam, it would have been great to be stationed in Thailand.

    Local restaurant

    Company mascot

    Main street

    Looking for love

Don't know if this is before or after

    Stickly business

I like the scoot in the garage

Waiting for the GIs to get off work

    Just looking for work
