Where to get stainless steel gates made?

Sometime soon I'm going to need to buy some new gates for my house. I've decided to go for stainless steel. I have been to one place and had a rough price. Not sure if it was over the top but did seem a bit pricey.

    I'll be needing a 4m X 2m slider and a 1m X 2m hinged.

Anyone else done the footwork on finding well made and priced ornate gates?

    Cheers

PS, I'm on the Darkside near Mabprachan

8,000baht per square meter if memory serves me correctly, one place on Sukhumvit heading past the Thepprasit turn towards Sattahip, he does marble, granite and stainless, another place on Soi Thepprasit, left hand side heading towards Jomtien, last security grills place, has a big roofed frontage and a big set of stainless gates resting on display at the front.

Check the welding to make sure they are proper stainless welds.

If they skimp on the welding rods/gas then the joints will rust

Good call. Stainless steel (Gr.304) material is usually roughly double the price of normal (carbon) steel here. Plus the welding rods and longer / more difficult fabrication time.

Stainless steel is the silver colored stuff, not the black painted with gold bits on it, you wouldn't even be able to buy the 4 pieces of stainless for the outer edges for 3,500baht. (Thats just material price.)

Could be 202 grade, that has only 1% of nickel, cheaper stainless by half, not good in Pataya area, rust, could work in Issan, far from Sea.

The normal grade is 304 and if you want marine grade you can double price of 304, that would be 316, 16 k square meter

    Cheers for the info.

I had a 1.3m X 2.6m ornate stainless panel made and fitted for 15k (4,500 pm) last week, to keep scrotes out.

He has quoted me 4,500 pm for the gates too. I will wait and see if the panel starts to rust in the next couple of months before I make any decisions.

The fella seems to have made a good job. Obviously stainless steel costs more than I expected.

True marine is buckets more than that.
I doubt you can even buy it in Thailand.

You're very welcome to pop around to my place to see that what I have is stainless steel. I'd do a photo but I can't fathom out how to post one.
