I agree, 40K is not enough to fully enjoy a decent 2 week vacation. I'd say double it.

You have budgeted less than 3,000 baht per night. 1,000 will be on food and drink. That only leaves 2,000 baht a day spending money. Bring more.

    1. For a 2 week trip- how much money would be enough to bring along to be safe ?
I was thinking about 1500/USD ( Just over 40K Baht) (Yes/no/ I am out of my blooming mind).

    2. I am trying to also find a cheap place to stay for the 2 weeks. So if anyone in Bangkok or Pattaya want to rent me a room ? LOL (FYI- I am a whore monger- but I don't smoke)

    3. If someone is free ( I will give more exact dates later- after work confirms that I can actually leave for 2 weeks with out the place burning down) I would love to have a tour guide. I know I know, rent one...psssheee..I am a cheap old bastard...please...

    4. Is the electric 120 or 220 ? Asking so I can use my vid cam and lappy.

So I guess thats about all I have to ask right now...Might have more later.

Ok bro - here's a few pointers for saving money in Bangkok.

Short-time girls from "The Strip" (On Sukhumvit Road) (Soi 3-upto Soi 19) 500bt.

Burgers outside Nana Plaza (Soi 4) 80bt
    Kebabs Soi 3/5/7 (50bt)

    Hotel 27 (Soi 22) 400bt (Aircon)

Drink beer and pickup girls at Soi 13 (Where it meets Sukhumvit) after midnight. cheap beer - cheaper women

If you eat n sleep cheap your budget will still get you 2-3 girls a day

    Enjoy.

Kind of a dive...but hey, for someone who is whoring and siteseeing...I do not need much.
This place looks just fine for a man with no milstones To look out for, I'd be happy with it at 400 a night, as long as there ain't any break neck steps

If you like to drink to get drunk and you're not a lightweight, change the beer for Sang Som .

Take a 'before & after' pic of yourself at Bkk airport if you're gonna stick to that diet for 2 weeks and you'll be able to fly home at an all time low

That one and Sawasdee Sunshine Hotel are OK. A friend stayed there last month 800 baht walk in rate aircon room. The agoda price is 420 air con. Good location also

    In Bangkok try

Woraburi Sukhumvit Hotel, Bangkok on agoda.com
    $25 a night

LOL !! Yeah, my thoughts exactly.

100K it is, ATM as backup, small loan on car to ensure cop bribes, and full med records in case I get eaten by a croc or stepped on by an elephant.

    I am a static whore.

The rest of the next week is whatever havok I can lay down in pattaya. They will know the name Dreadlord when I leave.

    Couple of pointers Dread:

    1. Accommodation - That photo of Skytop is their best room, or so I am led to believe. Looks piss poor to me. I have stayed at the Butchers Arms on Soi Buakhow a couple of times. Room rates are 650-850 baht per night and good value. They don't have a website, instead they are on Facebook. So you can check it out.

    2. Women. If you intend to go overboard then there is no "budget". One of the best ST room deals I have found are 300 baht in Oasis a Go-Go. Usually a dancer would expect 1,000 baht "tip". Although I once got an "all in" 1,000 baht deal in low season.

    3. Your post above implies that you have "an agenda". I assume its your first trip to Pattaya then? In which case you will be like a lamb to the slaughter. Just like I once was was myself. You can read all you want and prepare yourself. It wont make any difference.

    A fantastic experience though!!

Well, I do like to try and keep things organized. Thats why I was "trying" to make an agenda. As far as a budget, I don't make a ton of money so I need to keep things in perspective. It is for my own good trust me I will look them up on facebook.

As far as a lamb to the slaughter, you may be right. But hopefully when I get there some people would be kind enough to hang out an teach me the ropes. I do plan on coming there every year for a while then moving there.

Forget the organized program! Rest the first night???? You won't be able to!!! The call of the wilds out there will seep into your subconscious, heh-heh-heh.

There is an old mongering adage: Bring half the clothes and double (triple?! ...) the money.
