My good lady wife has a couple of washing machines with coin operation boxes bolted on the side - maybe this is an idea for additional income from those people who don't want / can't afford full laundry service.
Location - if you're interested in passing trade then you need to be where people can see you - let's say soi ghopai in pattaya, where there's lots of traffic and apartments, for local business, and if you're interested in hotel laundry work then you can be anywhere.
Good luck with the venture.
Not sure what you guys pay for laundry but my guys in BKK charge 500 baht for 60 pieces (i.e. shirts, trousers) and have done for years. Market too competitive for them to up the rates.
So to cover DD's 18k rent Ms. Yong2009 will be washing, drying, and ironing 2160 pieces to cover the rent.
I guess the tourist market will be more lucrative but with all the russians and chavs in Pattaya these days I wouldn't be relying on them too much
Old travel threads: Outback, Australia | Taytay, Philippines | Busuanga, Philippines | Isaan, Thailand | Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam
I remember the days when it cost 300baht for 100 piecesand they used to collect and deliver every 3 days

This is definitely an interesting calculation, and I guess your price for the laundry service is about right. Although the guys wouldn't be to happy, if you only brought your trousers. I guess this is a mix of underwear, shirts, pants etc.?
So not an easy job and the 18 K is probably too high for the rent to make it sustainable.
