Serious answer. I have a friend who has run a commercial enquiry business in Thailand for 30 plus years. He wouldn't take a case like this unless you happen to be the CEO of a listed company where your life choices could have a commercial impact.

He would advise you not to go down this route for myriad reasons:
It would be very expensive. PIs charge per hour plus expenses and you need checks in Isan plus Phuket, maybe elsewhere.
Most information is hearsay, what people in the village or the bar say, which you will ultimately discard if it doesn't meet your expectations.
Hard facts are few. You can't expect tax records, arrest records or even marriage records unless you are very lucky. Social media might have pictures, which you'll interpret as you prefer.
No one wants to do entrapment, to find her social media and make her an offer, meet her and record something. (Maybe some local outfits would do that - then you'll say it was entrapment and get upset about it.)
Professional background checks usually involve the subject offering a history which is then confirmed point by point and any gaps in the history identified for further research. You are starting from a different place.
In the end you'll be unhappy with the work and no closer to a resolution.
