Been to the Little Chef in Bang Saen at least 10 times.. Decent food with pizza, Sunday roasts, Mexican and a few other classics with Thai food for the girls.

It's just off the #7 motorway if anyone's passing that way.

The restaurant at the Scandinavian Village down the road is nice too.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

I would never buy a frozen curry again while living in Pattaya, have tried a few long ago and they were shite. But why would we buy frozen anyway when there's about 50+ Indian restaraunts here we can go to, probably closer to 100, and most of them deliver. Fresh made curries just get better in the fridge over the next day or three as we all know, but for whatever reasons once they're frozen they universally suck.

Dill's talking about a different place called My Little Chef, it's on the Darkside. It's an open air single shop-house that may or may not have had decent food, but that end of the culinary spectrum is way beyond saturation point here, more so in an off the beaten path location with no air-con. He's trying to sell it for 750k then reduced it to 500k the next day, he'll need luck getting 50 Baht for it.

I'm often surprised to not see 9/11 corner shops

And I did go gor breakfast in there once. The bloke was wearing a headband like the kids dad in Inbetweeners, constantly talking shit and smoking away whilst I was trying to eat quickly

^I never did make it there but did go as far as seeing exactly where it was on Waze and thought about going there one day. The food looked good, especially the FEB, but driving from home to there I'd pass a few dozen other places - literally - with pretty much exactly the same menu at the same price and they all have aircon. Assuming he opened when he first started advertising on the local food groups, he lasted about 2 or 3 months. Now he's doing a fire sale and moving back home and by the looks of it there's a Missus and kid involved .

I genuinely feel sorry for these guys and their broken dreams but to try to get into the food game here without having something totally unique to offer is insanity. The competition is way too cut-throat and the margins just aren't there to make a dollar, or even survive.

I must in general agree with that mate but there are a few exceptions.

My wife supplies her products to most of those shops previously mentioned and is doing quite well but with the pound going through the floor it is getting more difficult.

Anyway having a go is what it is all about and with products that distance themselves from others in the market.

For those interested London Inn on Nueng Plub Wan has great food at reasonable prices and is kicking butt at the moment.

Has aircon and also a range of take-away ready made meals on offer.
