Great marketing by Retox, as usual. They certainly know their customer base and will be laughing all the way to the bank.
^ So you think there are actually people out there who will see the non-halal sign and start patronising the place?
I doubt that very much, the kind of clientele Retox attracts go to that shit hole for one reason, the cheap stodgy food and beer. If a Halal Retox opened the opposite side of the road and was 5 baht cheaper a meal or beer then that one is the one that would be getting all the business.
No such thing as bad publicity.
Suppose that depends on your point of view.Originally Posted by jabir

Halal is a cruel, filthy, barbaric practice by modern day cave people, to be free of it is the way to go
You still won't let that P4P thing go, eh?
There are signs like this one still shown in Pattaya bars.
When recent Thai PM's and "statesmen" have unfavourably compared Indians to snakes, and farangs to cockroaches, don't hold your breath for any cultural sensitivity here in LOS.
How many more times- Islam is NOT a race but a supremacist ideology, based on the rantings of a 7th century rapist and murderer. You have to have had your head in the sand for the past 25 years not to have a problem with it, unless you are one of course
^ Damn you were bad as xanax, you are worse as a buttplug clone...
Mods any chance to merge these two posters back into one?

most thai boozers aimed at the falang market along with the the florid bull-necked loud mouthed low rent pot bellied tattooed white trash along with their tarted up thai fishwives that make up their abhorrent customer base would have no trouble at all in making a wetherspoons look like the promenade bar at the dorchester. It's sort of the "Wetherspoons" of Thailand.
I drink there on a Sunday because I meet up with a couple of old boys from my hometown who like the big screens and cheap beer.
On my part when you live in Thailand and work in the oil industry you can have any kind of life you desire. We've got the dough to have that choice.
cheers
Pointless. Detox is non-Halal anyway, because it serves pork and alcohol. No strictly observant Islamite or Jew would go there anyway. And the many others that don't give a rats, what difference does it make except to make them feel unwelcome and drive them away?
If the rumors are true, Detox has more to worry about than cheap marketing stunts.
Have you ever been to the One Step Beyond Bar run by Kev and located on Siam Country Club Rd not far from Chicken Cross Rd?
Most of the patrons are Scottish Off Shore workers and are a good bunch of lads.
In fact the only other non-jock imbibers who frequent the bar are Sabang and I.
