suvarnabhumi airport from pattaya by taxi

    Gday.

Does anyone have a link or contact to a reliable taxi service from Pattaya to Suvarnabhumi airport?

There's a few threads around about this, but most are quite old.

    Recent info appreciated.

There was someone on the other channel the other day wanting a taxi from Jomtiem to Swampy. He says he normally paid 1000/baht which I thought was cheap. Someone gave him a number for 900/baht in the end.
I've saved the number on my other phone
Give me a couple of minutes

    Damm Taxis are cheap.

Partner of a friend is an Uber driver (in the west).

Driving my car (car seats for the kids) from home to the Airport and park the car back at my place,
    he wanted Bht 6,000
My gas and I paid the tolls. He lives in the adjoining suburb.

Distance is about the same as Swampy -> Pattaya

    I declined ...

They're cheap. Wot's the chances of you and your family getting yer head smashed in by the government taxi drivers for using Grabtaxi?

    The standard is 900 baht,

You don't have to look hard to get a taxi. Just go to one of the many tour travel kiosks dotted about and they will sort you out.

The reason it is 900 baht is because the taxis take people from Swampy or Bangkok for 1200/1500 baht (standard or they rip you off for 3k if a tourist) and want a return fare. The taxi drivers are well happy because they can grab a cheap girl for the night and get a fare home.

Just walk for 100 metres in any direction of where you are and you will find someone punting out a taxi service.

This was at 22:00, it's reasonable to assume there's a premium attached for after-hours travel but fucking hell that's a doozy of a premium!. I use Grab Car all the time for local travel though and couldn't be happier with the service or prices.

    Thanks.

I assume that I have to pay the tolls, but 900 baht still seems cheap for a 90 minute drive.

It's cheap because they would rather have a fare back to their return destination rather than going home empty.

Most of the GrabTaxis are proper taxis... Grab is just another customer source. A bloody good one I may add. The GrabCar drivers are just normal cars and they can get some grief from the ''proper'' taxis. I only use GrabTaxi.

Yes, they generally are from what I see, and on local trips still are. For some reason, going to the airport they are not.

^&^^Grab Car are normally about 20% cheaper than Grab Taxi for local use, maybe there's a danger money levy for airport runs . I always use Grab Car around home for no other reason than to ride in cars I've never been in before. Last rides on the weekend were in a Nissan X-Trail on the way out, and a Chevy Cruze on the way back. Both were nice cars to ride in and both drivers got 5* ratings.

Well I've booked 900 baht pickup for 10am tomorrow.

I'll let you know if he arrives on time..

My problem with grab in PH is that the availability of drivers is proportionally opposite to the urgency of my departure.

So for a run to the airport I want reliability.

Driver phoned me about 5 minutes to 10 to tell me that he was about 5 minutes away.

Arrived on time, driving a Toyota Innova, so bonus leg room.

Service gets a tick of approval from me.

    Give him your business 086 392 1240
