Following on from Kurgen's lead, there might be some interest from the non arse-out-of-their-shorts Thai Visa type dwellers here. This restaurant is on Soi Lengkee, and has been open for about 6 months now. I've been half a dozen times and in a place like Pattaya, there's no need to ever set foot in the door of anywhere that doesn't deliver. The website is Home - Steak & Co Pattaya which has the full menu on it, and the photos of the the food and decor in the gallery are exactly what you'll see inside. My favourite fare is the Black Angus rib eye (the 250 gr model is plenty if you have a starter), the rack of lamb, and the Wagyu bacon and blue cheese burger. All are excellent!. There's a Farang head chef and manager normally on the floor at night making sure things are running as they should. The only 2 downsides I have to this place is there's often no parking at night nearby (there's a hotel carpark opposite that charges 40 Baht but they're often full) and the couscous stuffed tomatoe you'll see in the photos that comes with most mains is a bit bland. Otherwise, it's well worth a visit. Good service too, when was the last time you heard the magic words "may I repeat your order" in Thailand?.
On the subject of good service, and it's rarity here, I had no idea where to put this short tale but it's worth telling; I needed a few hundred large last week and went to my bank to get it, which is Kasikorn on Pattaya Tai. No less than 3 PR girls were there as I walked in the door and after asking how they could help, they got me a number from the machine to get in line to see a teller. Then when I went to fill out a withdrawal form, they said this was no longer necessary and the new measure was in place "to make your banking experience less stressful" (I shit you not!). The bank wasn't particularly busy but they had 6 tellers on duty and my wait was not more than 3 minutes to get served. I just told the girl how much I wanted, she wrote the number down on a piece of paper and showed it to me, I nodded, then she filled out the form so my entire input was 2 signatures and watching the cash machine count out a few stacks of a hundred silver Kings then walking out the door. In a time where things seem to be going backwards here when it comes to service of any type, this was a win
