Went to check out the Lek buffet on Sunday morning. Took a look around and then left straightaway and hit the Apex because the latter has a lot more selection. I may try the dinner buffet at the Lek later this week to see how it compares.

I had breakfast at Apex once. Good food. ;-)
Went last night to try out the dinner buffet at the Lek. I have to say that it's much better than the Apex. Both have relatively the same menu, but the Lek wins because of its grill. While the Apex offers chicken, steak, and squid, the Lek offers squid, chicken satay, rotisserie ham, chicken, ribs, and shishkebab. You can also sit poolside at the Lek, making for an enjoyable evening. The only pisser is that while Apex offers free water or coffee, the bastards at the Lek make you pay for anything except for coffee, and if you're a cheap bastard like me, that just won't do!
I'll go there with Toon on Sunday.
:party43:
Although I know where the Lek Hotel is , i have never been inside. I will certainly go for the buffet in July. I might even get to see DD. I thought that the Cosy Hotel was a bit inland from the sea. Is it really near the Beach (rooms with a seaview?) at Jomtien? Where is the Apex Hotel? I would love to try it as well.
This is a great thread. So good to have a site that mentions Pattaya and is not entirely Bangkok centred.
The Apex is on second road, a few sois down from the Lek, just past the KISS restaurant.
I must spend more time on second street next time I'm there
Breakfast at Apex is a good deal. :) You will like it and end up the day with dinner at Lek Hotel.. hmm... yummy!
And yes! Cosy beach is a good hotel. It's on a hill, not expensive and good view, I reckon.
;)
I stayed at the LEK last time I was in pattaya.
Never have I seen a more horrendous display of human-beings (a term I use lightly), than those who take part in this buffet! - Huge germans eating bacon and eggs by the kilogram!~ the food may be OK, but the people surrounding the food made me lose my appetite....
The kebabs made on the street by a couple of egyption guys, just a little down the road from the LEK are great, BTW..
There are some grossies that go to these grease-buffets.Quote:

Big trays of scrambled eggs, bacon, greasey sausages, eggs, hash browns, and other stuff. It's gunky.
I have to agree about most buffets just being average food kept warm for hours
I was invited to a buffet last week, and most of the food was unappealing. I did manage to eat four plates of smoked salmon though, and that filled me up nicely.
Didn't leave much for others though...sorry folks
Right choice Dr.
I also don't eat rice when beeing invited for dinners, have plenty of that at home
Anyone ever try the more expensive buffets in Pattaya? The Royal Cliff has a dinner buffet for 1000 baht --- I hear they have lobster, steak, jumbo shrimp, etc.
Its a five minute walk down to a private beach. The rooms are seaview on one side. I just spent 3 nights. Seaview 1900 Roadview 1500. Come may you get an automatic upgrade to seaview if you simply ask for it. Space available of course, but I have never been denied.Quote:

Never try that price in Pattaya but I tried the one in Narai Hotel in BKK around Silom. It's pretty good hmmm.. not sure how much but more than 500 Baht, I think.
My mate's building one on Jom Beach Road. It'll be very smart and only around 800B/night. I'll have to check it out when it opens.
I'm starving. I'm away for a sandwich!
I have been to that buffet a couple of times and it has always been good, as well as being a very reasonable price.
I thought I'd bump this thread and add some pictures of the buffet breakfast.
despite what Milkman says, it's all well cooked and presented and it's got to be the best value in Pattaya.
I'm not a big buffet fan, but as you can take as little or as much as you like and you don't have to sit around waiting for your food it can hit the spot, especially as this morning when I've woken early with a clear head and rumbling stomach after the last couple of days New Year celebrations.
The price is now 110 Baht and it's open from 7am to 1pm, I was up and about so got there early to avoid the later crowds.

Nice and clean, and well presented.

Milk, juice and water.

Lots of differrent salads and dressings, sliced melon and there was a big plate of Laab Moo if you feel you need a good clear out, luckily I wasn't drunk so didn't go for that, but if your teelak is from Isaan she might be impressed.

All the good stuff, eggs, bacon, scrambled, those pretend sausages the germans love, gypsy toast, pancakes and syrup, there was also roast pork with gravy, mixed veg, and potatoes, handy if your heading home and haven't had your dinner yet.

Thai food, rice, fish soup, phad krapow and various other stuff.
https://teakdoor.com/Gallery/albums/u...6/P1000482.jpg
Lots of different bread with a toaster, croissant, cornflakes, jam, fruit salad, tea and coffee.
Got to say the tea and coffe won't win any prizes, but it's hot and wet.

A really nice, peaceful setting to enjoy your food and relax.
So, what did I have?
Two glasses of pineapple juice, some fruit salad and a croissant.
Coffee.
Bacon, scrambled eggs, gypsy toast and pancakes.
More coffee.
Phad krapow gai, kai dow. (that's chicken with a fried egg on it) rice.
A couple of slices of watermelon.
More coffee.

Burp! :D
nice bump, and I would like to add dont go to the Lek Villa in North Pattaya. Nice people clean place but little to no variety in the buffet at dinner. Went about a month ago and was disappointed. The only decent thing was thin slices of thai beef cooked up and served with an onion gravy.
Pity, as the pool area is even larger than the original Lek.
All I need is a mapQuote:
