The best breakfast in Patong is at the Islander. 185baht for the killer british breaky, 120 for a sensible american breaky. Tea and coffee served in nice big mugs!

235baht does seem a tad spendy for a breaky even in the USA.

I had the number one breakfast at Canterbury Tales the other day, 65 Bht + ordered a slice of black pudding for 20 bht. For a larger appetite, their number 2 brekky is 85 bht.
Pretty good- a nice tasty pork sausage which is hard to get around here (though a bit small), decent bacon, good toast. Beans, tomato & of course 2 eggs.

^ Nothing personal with CD but giving them a miss for a while, now frequent CT, competitive, spacious, friendly staff, free pool and internet, sport of the day...oh yes, edible grub and they'll do it how you like it and if that's not good enough they'll do it again with a smile.

^ It's in Soi Chaiyaphoon, which runs between Soi Bukhao and Third Rd.
Crazy Dave's is pretty much next door and Neeroy's, a cheap curry and fish n' chips place diagonally opposite.

Instead of Lek Hotel i went across to try Diana Inn Hotel for the first time. It was not very good,...poor lighting and very like a step back in time to the 60's. Food wasnt great. Perhaps this is all due to it being the low season and there is not such a good turnover in the food. Like Lek Hotel it all seemed to be heated up.

Canterbury Tales, Soi Chayapoon off Soi Bukhao may not be the cheapest in town, but it's a good deal less than the Pig and at least as good imo. I think it runs to about 120 Bht, inc. juice & coffee.
Actually Breakfast of 2 eggs, (any style) 2 bacon, sausage, beans, tomato, 2 large doorstep toast, Tea or Coffee free orange drink is only 75baht, with large Fresh squeezed Orange juice would be 125 and we do black pudding, fried bread etc etc all the traditional UK style breakfast items, as well as main meals like fish & chips 110 baht etc.
    Cheers Dave

Needn't be expensive in Bangkok if you know where to look. Cafe 22 on Suk 22 offers a decent Full English with tea or coffee for 120THB.

Sounds good - I'll check it out one day, but I'm sure it's not a match for the Dubliner's. I usually go for the mini at 200B there.
