    'Yo Darksiders;

    While on a long overdue recon through your backyard today () I noticed an absolutely HUGE chunk of real estate cleared off the South side of SCC, just before getting to the lake. What's going in there does anyone know, a golf course or the biggest village ever built in Pattaya?. Thanks in advance.

    a bloke down the pub told me it's going to be a huge village and a superstore, so it must be true.

    They have been back filling and leveling that for about 6 months now, some serious moola involved, must be about 100 rai.

    It's going to be called the "New Pattaya City" which will include the area around Mahprachan and heading back to the 36 highway.

    Mega Malls and other infrastructure will be put in place including the widening of Siam Country Club Road which has already commenced.

    And a few years down the track, they might even follow up with some drainage, sewerage and other infrastructural improvements. Nice to have property there, but I'm kinda glad not to be living in a construction zone.

    Well there we go then. Can't even begin to imagine the traffic out there once it's open...

    And LT, we had a burger for lunch at a place you and I rate over your way. No prize for guessing where and they're still very good

    ^If someone lived on that sort of thing day in day out you'd be completely right. But in the opinion of most, including nutritionists, once every week or two does sweet fuck all to your weight or heart-attack odds.

    Besides that though, I see you're in Brisvegas. Think corner takeaway shops from the 70's owned by some Greek named Alfonso or Theo and that's what those burgers are like (minus the beetroot ). Absolute bliss...

    Took me 45 bloody min. to drive from Foodland to the Rendezvous hotel at the lake a couple of weeks ago (distance about 9 km.), just hit the road at the wrong time on a normal day.

    It was solid steel on the Klang, the short bit on Sukhumvit, but suprising to me also on Soi Siam in both lanes all the way up to the market where you turn down towards the Easteny resort, everything moved at a snails pace with complete mayhem at the railway crossings.

    I remember back 8 years ago when Soi Siam was a nice quiet road especially after dark, but Im afraid the days of our nice and almost a bit "secret" longterm expat haunts around the lake is numbered.

    We shall have to go exploring again

    It's going to be the Toll Booths for the route 7 extension. You will shortly see the trees being felled on the western side of the reservoir.

    I see that there is a new A-GO-GO style bar going up just around the corner from your gaff.

    First one of it's type around the lake and you will be able to enjoy house music all night and for free very soon.
