I'm driving 6 hours up to Jurassic Park this weekend to have a drink with a couple of fellas and one of them has asked me to get him some Fray Bentos pies.
Anyone know where I can buy some?

Sainsburys
mmmmm mechanically separated meat pies!
Buy them a decent pie and call them pikey bastards when they complain.
Fray Bentos is a town in Uruguay. Could start there?
Villa Market --195 baht each
Cheers chappies.
Sorry to upset you but you can get Fray Bentos pies in Pound shops.
And Vesta curries too.
Pound shops are going to take over the world.
Orrens
They'd prolly be Baht shops here Sir.
My old dear bought me some fray bentos steak puds delicious
Fray Bentos and cheap red wine
is all they eat in the Argentine.
But after a scrap with the English navy,
they asked for the recipe for chips and gravy.
Argentine wine must be very thick?
Years ago a Fray Bentos steak + kidney pie used to have a certain amount of meat underneath that strange looking slab of grey flukey pastry , nowadays its some kinda meat flavoured gravy swilling about under an even thicker slab of that wet stuff on top.
The only thing I would use a tin of that stuff for these days would be to level my shed up a bit .
I think the Poles living near us eat it most nights

That 6 hour drive turned out to be 8 1/2 hours, BASTARD!
good cheap back up ...two down and outers living in my apt block used to share one with a cup of rice and some greens .i used to treat them to a bottle of cheap aussie plonk ....both great guys ..both did over by the local ladies as well as initially their british ladies .......i used to eat fb myself but gave them a miss ...i reckon the quality nose dived ..
The quality has nose dived badly. I remember real steak and kidney pieces (which is why they were a better alternative to Pukka pies) but now you might get two bits of kidney and overcooked beef
Used to be useful to have a couple in the cupboard for a rainy day
I only ever saw one opened once and that was enough to put me off for life.
Anyway, I saw these in Foodland the other day so took a snap for Kurgen.
195B in Yorkies, Jomtien.
I have a part roll of asphalt left over from a shed I made ,, I find that better for a temporary roof repairOriginally Posted by DJ Pat

Yes I've often noticed them. I wonder if there is any horse in them...
That would possibly make them edible.Originally Posted by Thormaturge
