    Fray Bentos pies?

I'm driving 6 hours up to Jurassic Park this weekend to have a drink with a couple of fellas and one of them has asked me to get him some Fray Bentos pies.

Anyone know where I can buy some?

    mmmmm mechanically separated meat pies!

Buy them a decent pie and call them pikey bastards when they complain.

Sorry to upset you but you can get Fray Bentos pies in Pound shops.

    And Vesta curries too.

Pound shops are going to take over the world.

Fray Bentos and cheap red wine
is all they eat in the Argentine.
But after a scrap with the English navy,
they asked for the recipe for chips and gravy.

Years ago a Fray Bentos steak + kidney pie used to have a certain amount of meat underneath that strange looking slab of grey flukey pastry , nowadays its some kinda meat flavoured gravy swilling about under an even thicker slab of that wet stuff on top.

The only thing I would use a tin of that stuff for these days would be to level my shed up a bit .

I think the Poles living near us eat it most nights
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

You go 6000 odd miles across the world then have the cheek to come on here asking where to buy these abomnations of so-called canned food?

The quality has nose dived badly. I remember real steak and kidney pieces (which is why they were a better alternative to Pukka pies) but now you might get two bits of kidney and overcooked beef

Used to be useful to have a couple in the cupboard for a rainy day

I only ever saw one opened once and that was enough to put me off for life.

Anyway, I saw these in Foodland the other day so took a snap for Kurgen.

That would possibly make them edible.

I wear the empty tins on my head, keeps the rain off. The discarded tops of the cans make ideal wheels for part of a model train I'm building
