This photo is a few months old now but thought I would add it to show an example of some old seating at one of the beach entrances.
Like I have mentioned it would be nice if the new work does include the same amount of various seating areas!

Yeah thats the sort of industry I,m in we do a lot of demolition work + re-instatement of roads / buildings etc ,, so you can add into that miles + miles of that poxy metal harris fence which has to secure ANY site now + miles of plastic fence + designated crossing points for the workers all to walk behind. Its a basatrd nightmare to operate a lorry / equipment in ,, and invariably some of it gets mashed during the day

As long as your kids don't burn, I guarantee they'll be more healthier than kids splashing SLS and other crap on their bodies!
you need to read up on the cumulative effects of uv radiation on the skin and their relation to the onset of malignant melanoma later in life, and the protection offered by suncreams.

    its not all about burning.

    Yes I agree,

Its really good to see Dave do a family thread, Family threads add a nice aspect to Teakdoor, they level out some of the crap on here.

Interesting to see the work going on in Pattaya as well.

    Nice work Dave.

    Cheers.

Top quality Photos and well framed.

What's this thread about exactly? I thought it was about beach road, then I thought it was about our kids, now it seems to be about me. Any clues anybody?

I've never liked Pattaya myself, way too seedy for my liking. To be perfectly honest, a good bull dozing and start again would probably be the best option.

Read the O.P again and you could get a clue,if you don,t like Pattaya then the title of this thread may have given you reason not to bother looking at it.

    Thanks for your comment!

Au contraire Gravesend Dave. The title of the thread filled me with hope and joy, that the place I dislike so much is getting a whole new look and maybe I would find it far more appealing than I once did. Unfortunately this wasn't to be the case and I was very disappointed to find the promised "revamp" was nothing more than a new pavement.

Still, if Pattaya is your thing and the laying of a new pavement is noteworthy to you, then this is definitely the thread to read.

Yes the revamp is focused on the pavement with its different areas and statues along the way.

They are also replacing the lighting which will enhance the look at night, along with planting many varieties of palm!.

Its a long drag which many members would have enjoyed a stroll down or like me also jogged there in the early evenings.

Many guests have viewed this thread probably some can relate to Pattaya, so might well be interested to changes being made on beach road.

I am certainly interested which is the main reason for doing the thread,if even only a couple of members appreciate and enjoy having a look at the thread that,s all good.

When I see some more notable changes down there it will be my pleasure to add them.

I don,t know what else you might of expected from reading the thread title but even from your first post its clear your a little confused.

Well I wasn't expecting 50 pictures of kids for starters and I thought maybe they were doing something a bit more exciting than laying a new pavement. Like you said though, lots of people found the kid photos/new pavement combo interesting, so it's all good.

    Cool Pattaya Beach road

I havent been to Pattaya for 2 years and truly miss it, I like the pictures of the
older men and girls together talking, I would go to the live music at night near police station and sit on wall across street and have a beer from circle K. Rode a 100 cc
motorcycle for $3.00 a day, was best time spent on many trips to many places in the world. I hate to see all this area tore up and cant hear music as well being farther away, Will there be a wall to sit on with a marble smooth top. Doubt it.
More pictures of punters and "pretty" girls haha

The concrete wall type seats which did add character along with the circular ones around the Coconut trees have all been smashed out now,it will be a shame if the same amount of seating is not replaced.

For now it does look as though its being made with less places for certain people to loiter.
For me the many ladies of the night, hawkers flogging beer to Papaya Salad along with the many tourists give the place it lively buzz!

I have enjoyed jogging up and down to taking leisurely strolls day and night or simply sitting about people watching with a beer.

Nice that you liked the thread Farmerfloyd but sorry I won,t be posting any photos of punters and girls as I really just want to concentrate on the work in progress, hopefully getting some photos of a much improved beach road.

I have been back today but there is very little noticeable progress.
Although the shrine area I showed in an earlier photo has now been finished off.

Not sure what the Horse statue is supposed to represent but have heard the shrine is for the Ghost that protects the beach.

I like the way the Ghost needs cctv to watch over his shrine
A lot of people are against cctv which I do not really understand,if your behaving then why worry about whether you are on camera or not!.

Them collection boxes do bring in some dough so the Ghost does need a bit of hawk eye!

For those that hate the congestion along beach road I can tell you today was a nightmare!,traffic at a stand still for hours
