When you're there, if you don't mind, can you ask them if there's anything in particular they need as I was planning on dropping some stuff off before new year?
Cheers if you can.
I dropped some stuff off to the Glory Huts yesterday. There are 25 people there now so any help is much appreciated.
Do you think they could have chosen a better name for it?
Sounds like a gay bar..
Maybe it was named by a poof?
Just dropped some stuff off down to them. There are now 31 people staying there so any donations would be appreciated.
I noticed they have quite a large vegetable garden on the go now, was that done with help from any TD posters?
Kurgen - Did you manage to get a list together of the stuff they most need? Me and the missus will do a run down there soon and would like to take useful stuff for them.
No I didn't. One of the things I dropped of was a sack of rice so that should last a couple of weeks.
With 31 people there I'm sure any fresh supplies are appreciated.
One of the ladies mentioned they had a website about to open up and they asked for the wifeys email address to let us know about it. When they send me the web address I'll post it.
I would post pictures but life's too short.

Ok Mid, I'm no expert so I stand corrected.
apologies , correcting you was not my intention , more emphasising the realities of provisioning the community .
No worries, no offence taken.
Mind you, until you mentioned it I thought a sack of rice would have lasted a while.
There's a shop at the end of their Soi that sells rice by the kilo or by the sack, just in case anyone is interested.
How is the baby doing?
Thought I'd post to bump the thread.
We all live very priveleged lives in comparison, and kudos to Kurgen for taking an interest and helping these people.
If you have a birthday coming up, dropping fifty quid's worth of groceries to these people will make you feel a whole lot better than wasting it a shite Thai bakery cake with lots of candles.
There's a trip there with the kids on xmas day to show the kids how to respect people
Worthwhile thread. Really good that some of you guys are helping out.
I took some supplies over to the Glory Huts yesterday.
They now have 40 people and 3 kids staying there so if anyone can help with some food they would really appreciate it.
The head lady speaks very good Ingrish, which is handy.
Great thread and a fantastic reaction from you guys.
We probably won't get to Pattaya until Christmas but would like to bring a few things along with us when we do. If a recent visitor is able to suggest what their main needs are now and, if possible, at Christmas, I'd be grateful.
Thanks.
i think people overlook some obvious facts, when it comes to HIV...
aids is seen as a threat to non-aids people, BUT...
non-aids people may pose a MUCH BIGGER threat to hiv-infecteds...
you may go there, but better never come close to the guys...
go only, when you are really feeling HEALTHY...
no coughings, no temperature, diarrhea, stomach pain or whatever...
Wise words Allycat
Here is the web site for the Glory Hut, don't be put off by seeing Thai language, a little further down the page is a language bar, however the translations are not as good as they might be.
Cannot but help being touched by the people there, every time I take a few supplies.

I got a friend to call them and ask what items would be most needed at the moment.
The reply from a controlled but obviously concerned woman was meat and vegetables.
They were living on just rice and noodles as they were over budget.
So a chat with the golf buggy driver at my hotel, he took me to 2nd Road found me a baht bus driver willing to take me to the market and on to the Glory Hut. 5kilos of Chicken, 5 kilos of pork and sackfulls of various vegetables, apples bananas etc and on to centre. I was given great prices at the market (the driver told them what I was doing)
All very much appreciated at the centre, 40 current residents.
A very worthwhile trip, I will do it again, they certainly need all the help they can get.
Well done Bower and thanks for the information.
