bastard...
My work rota falls perfectly this year...... flying out on the 12th. I too am a miserable old fart who detests a Pattaya Songkran. When I had a business here I'd stock up with paperbacks and hibernate upstairs for the duration.
I hear Chiang Mai is going mental now...... no longer a regulated 3 day festival?
Phuket I believe is pretty well regulated but then you have those noisy 'orrible hairy-arsed bikers for Fukit Bike Week!
Live in Bang Saen at the moment..........starts on 12 in the evening and continues until 17......10 p.m.
Will stay in Jomtien from 13 until 17 somewhere in the p.m. trying to avoid the worst in both cities.
Only problem is to get out of Bang Saen on the 13th and back in again on the 17th......will borrow a dingy from Sattahip Navy Base
Anyway, I hate SK and I'll be in most of the day, until after the sun has set for a safe passage to any restaurant in the neighborhood.
Why is it, that every year, Songkran starts sooner and ends later?
I hear bike week has been postponed until the end of the month because of the "no sell booze" weekend we have just had. TIT at its best!!Originally Posted by SpicyMartin
sour bunch of pricks, had the time of my life last year with ned havent you lot been wet before.... enjoy i reckon!
How long before the water starts getting thrown in Pattaya do you reckon?
argh things have conspired against me and I am now going to pattaya tomorrow. Whilst in Pattaya I may as well stay for a night out. Think I will stay in Jomtien, hopefully not quite as much water about as I try to get out on the 19th.
I hate songkran. From it starting in Chiang Mai on the 11th, well 2 tards that threw water even though nobody else was playing to Songkran in Ban Chang today. Why cant there be designated streets and if anybody plays outside of those streets they get shot?
ah, so you are one of those that thinks as soon as you step foot outside then you deserve to be wet? for a whole week. Sanuk!
Get over it, almost all the people I've seen throwing water so far are Thai's, enjoy or stay home.
When in Rome.......
I'm with the old codgers on here!
There is nothing worse than spending 3-7 days surrounded by girls in body hugging wet tshirts....hang on!?
I'll be there in an hour!
and there's always Jomtien for those that like the boys in 'body hugging wet tshirts'Originally Posted by The Fresh Prince
Aaaahh! Its over for another year, folks. No more squelchy grundies and sneakers. No more damply bosomed yings and not so yings. Fun when it starts, but it gets a bit like Chrissie. Soo glad when the leftovers leave the fridge.
I noted some improvement in the water propellants this year, a slimming down of the pipe types. Refining of the pipes diameter and thinning of the water stream but not the velocity.
