Xmas Fireworks?

Driving over Buddha hill yesterday, we were detoured as a crew was setting up fireworks. Were they for 12/31 or Xmas too? Anyone remember last year?

In the Phils new years firework are just too much ! They mean to chase bad spirits with the bangs and bring good luck.
Damn my dog is not happy this days, hes is scratching all our door to come in take refuge.

No idea how much they were for. 1231 seems a bit cheap though.
