Thanks for that Andy, I find most posters on here to be OK, if a bit harsh to strangers. There are one or two regulars who Troll and Bully us newbees but I am learning who to ignore.

Maybe when my post count comes up a little they will find other targets

Splenda is a sugar type product that diabetics can use. Sweetens up stuff very nicely. Crystal lite a powder drink that comes in many flavors its made with splenda. Diabetes killed my Mom, and distroying me now.

If you would rather use herbs than artificial products, you can get dried stevia leaves for almost nothing in Chiang Mai.

The same way CMn says 'appreciate that humour varies a lot around the world' perhaps Commonwealth posters ought to approach new posters from the same angle, and go easy on the pisstaking of people who aren't used to it.

Lots of cultures, not only American, think some of that stuff looks suspiciously like bullying and elitism clad in a 'humourous' form.

It's too easy to claim that somebody 'did not get the joke' when they've been offended by something you've said.
