Pai to Chiang Dao via back roads

Google maps says there are minor roads through the hills. Dirt or?

    Looks interesting

Looks like dirt to me, this time of year you should be ok as no rain. They've probably already fixed all the shit caused by the rain. Have fun!

Rode a lot of those trails back in the day and you can run into some pretty interesting stuff, as well as some of the most delicious corn whiskey moonshine you will ever taste!

^Lao Khao...as in white not rice if that's what you are questioning.

The moonshine made from corn of which Thailazer is talking of, is typically made by the northern hill tribes and gets you mao mak

Yeah, the corn whiskey is very smooth! Been too long to recommend any routes, but I'll check to see if I have any GPS tracks. Some of those trails would get grown over in a period of a couple years and become impassible, sometimes with thorny bush.
