Our little lady just passed away after 13 years. A great sweetheart of a lady. Beautiful white Pomeranian. She will be missed.

Precious memories RIP.
She lived a long life.

I'm on my third dog now.

The first a Border Collie I bought with my wages working at a local kennels at 14, he died age 5 from distemper.
The second a black Lab rescue lived to 7 before he was taken.

Our present mut we've had for 8 years now, Sprollie is the best dog and brilliant with my kids.
He truly is one of the family.

What does your wife use the clay for? Is it just because it settles well in the bottom of the pots. Do you have to "feed" the lotus plants? If they are planted in clay there wouldn't be much in that for them to survive on.

Norton, Mendy can get you a new dog, nothing will replace one you had for that long however.

Thanks on our dogs. We really enjoy the fun and laughs they bring, albeit Sandy is obsessed with the damn ball throwing.

First morning of socializing with her sisters. We all played fetch the ball. Maggie got ran over 3 or 4 times by her big sisters but got back up and kept at it. She sleeps in the Kennel with the other dogs at night in her small crate to acclimate.

Here is the Lotus pot clay my wife buys. They come in flat discs and from what I was told, are pulled from locals rivers. No idea where but it works.

These are the fertilizer pellets I put into the mud by the roots after about a week after they are planted.

^ We used to use that clay to top off the soil in plant pots underwater in the pond to stop the fish digging out the soil. It kind of worked but the fish still got in, so now I used a combination of gravel and wire netting. Those pla nin are determined buggers when they want to build a nest.

Good luck with Maggie... I find it really enjoyable to introduce a new dog to the pack... usually. Some of ours have been a bit difficult.

Thanks Mendy. I enjoy it too. Always some interesting moments for sure. Judy has already set her boundaries and the little one learned in a few short hours. Sandy and Annie are like Keep up if you can

Picked up our new ankle biter today. 9 weeks old. got home and did some socializing with the other 3 and I was tossing the ball for the 3, the little one chased after them almost instantly.

she's lovely, going to be quite big if her paws are anything to go by.

Up early with the ankle biter. Have to split my time with the normal ball fetchers in the morning and then some private time with Maggie.





She is catching on quick. So funny to see such a little grunt around. Love having them and teaching them. She has some long legs. Her Dad and Mom are big labs so she might be a tall one. She is already the constant tail wagger. Today we had a delivery and as always the big dogs run to the gate. I grabbed up Maggie and ran with them. Her ears were up and she said Hello to the regular delivery guy from Kerry. Soon I will have 4 of them standing up on the gate.

I have trained Judy to bring back small boxes from the gate and the delivery guy laughs as he hands it to her and she brings to me. He has taken a few vids of it.

Thanks HL.. My wife knew little about Labs or Retriever type dogs only pics she saw of me growing up and duck hunting with the two Labs I had. Now she loves them and they get on so well with people, young kids to adults.

Now is the time to teach them, You know what they say about an old dog?
When we got our other dogs , I was still woking and under contract so I would pop into Thailand between projects for a couple of months, and go back to work after, so I never got to train them properly. Now I throw a ball and they look at me like I am crazy. They are probably wondering why I am throwing away a perfectly good ball.

So I also started throwing a stick and when the new puppy brings it back I give her a little dog treat. Being the enterprising dog that she is (smart as a whip) , now everything she finds she brings it to me and drops it at my fee and waits for her treat. She cracks me up.

Funny that and they are quick learners when it comes to treats. My wife buys a big bag of dried pigs ears and they LOVE to eat them. Well almost all. Sandy thinks burying it for another time is a good idea. Of course Annie knows exactly where she buried it and eats hers then digs up Sandy's. Like you, that cracks me up,

Little ankle biter is off and running. 8.5 weeks and already retrieves and returns. I have to get her a bit bigger before she engages with her older sisters. They just simply run her over both ways. While funny and all part of the passing, I do worry she might get hurt so we have our quality time. A rookie learning the ropes.



@ Buckaroo. So in this pic I planted a few of those purple flowering plants you posted pics of. This one seems to grow damn near 6 to 10" a day. Its found its way up to the hanging moss then has wrapped it self in the sala. I will train it along the roof line and see how it does.



I have been teaching this one to grow up the tree by the pool bar. It finally caught on and is filling out fast. I always like big leaf vine plants on trees.

No surprises on the NFL games this morning. Tomorrow, SF Niners host the Dallas Cowboys. Shaping up to be a good one and this has been a long time rivalry. I have been to many of the games between these 2. Lots of Cowboy fans in the Bay Area.

Well last 3 days have been off the rails so to speak. My FIL fell seriously ill and I took him to the hospital emergency. They were unable to diagnose his condition at our local hospital so they transported him to the larger one in Lampang City. After a battery of various tests they ran him into an emergency surgery and removed a portion of his lower intestine. Wife has been back and forth to the hospital 3 times a day, her sister is flying up from Ayutthaya. Coupled with that my wife has the flu so she is exhausted and worn out and has to stay away and can only ask her niece to go find out what's going on from the lobby area. He is doing better but still not out of the woods yet. He will likely have to stay in the hospital for 3 more days then how to manage it when he comes home.

So I am left at the ranch to take care of the zoo animals. Socializing a puppy takes patience and time. Plus I still have to work so its been busy.

On the bright side



I can finally say I have found a Thai beer I like. This is a really nice IPA. So many are harsh and bitter and you almost have to wash your mouth out with every drink but this has a nice nose and a very pleasant taste and a 6.7% ABV which is perfect.





The little ankle biter watched her sisters drink out of the bucket and she caught on quick, albeit a bit short.



She now follows me around on shovel patrol in the morning. Good exercise and she is learning the lay of the land



She absolutely loves dried coconut husks to chase and retrieve.
