Been a fun road trip to BKK, down to Sattahip for work then back to BKK. Tomorrow heading back to Lampang. Wife had her Lasik procedure and was all good.

Wife and I enjoyed going back around where we hung out and ate when we first met. This place makes the best Khao Man Gai. Been around forever and inside this hotel. Not your 45bht street meal but well worth it.

I did my morning walks ever day around both BKK and Sattahip. Kept my 18K or better step count. (Sorry no watch pics, leave that for EdTard )

Racked up quite a few BTS miles traveling all over the city, can't beat the 150bht per day pass.

No trip to BKK can go without a wander through MBK. I was looking for a rifle case. No not for a gun, but to fab up a carrying case to mount on the back of my ATV. I found a few but they were way overpriced. I can order off Shopee cheaper which is surprising as supposedly everything at MBK is best price. I showed the gal the same case on Shopee and she said no way can she match it.

Stayed at the new Grande Centre Point in BKK. Super nice place.

The digital looking building from our room

Saturday night went into Chinatown to walk the place and find some food

Had me a smoking hot plate of Rad Na Goong. Was delish. Weather still really nice in BKK.

Sunday we drove over to the huge Fruit market in Rangsit area. Anyone want a Banana?. Wife picked up a bunch of fruits she likes and will give to her sister on Tuesday.

Today stopped by the meat market and picked me up a full slab of beef tenderloin. 3kg. Beauty Grain fed Australian cut. Also picked up 12 spicy Italian sausages.

Yeah it was a busy one with work and my wife's Lasik procedure. But we had a GREAT time visiting some old places we used to go to when we met and lived in BKK.

Them steaks are going to be good off the grill.

I was curious about this one. Is it lasix or lasik? The two are very different. One is an eye surgery, the other is a treatment for people with very serious health problems like liver disease and congestive heart failure.

Oh, that is good to know the other spelling was for a much more serious condition.

Great..... but it's been funny. So you have 2 options. Fix far sighted or Near. Best approach is fix far sighted. So now she can see very well far but we had to pick up some reading glasses for near and she has misplaced them 4 or 5 times since the procedure.

Just got back to Lampang a few hours ago. Stopped at my friends house (American) in Tak. Nice to spend a few minutes shooting the shit laughing.

    Cocktail time.

This is what I don't really get about Lasik.

I would find it way more of a pain not to be able to look at my phone unassisted than not to be able to look at stuff in the distance.

Your phone tends to demand instant attention at sporadic but frequent intervals. Stuff in the distance (driving/movies/ladies on the beach) can be planned for with glasses (or binoculars) when you know you will be out and about and need them. But you need to look at your phone virtually all the time.

If I get Lasik then I can't see my phone anymore. I think I will stick with being short sighted and popping on my glasses for the distance stuff.

Would have loved to Norts but that would have added about 7+ more hours to my already 8 hr drive. He lives right off AH1 on my way home.

Covered about 1500 kms on this trip driving and didn't see one accident, had no close calls and didn't see any raging idiots driving even though a few on TD believe it is utter chaos out driving in Thailand . Did have to slow down 6 times to pass through the BIB road scams. It's nearing the end of the month. Gotta pay their bills.

Yep. Quite a long drive Roi Et to CM. Miss Kitt did it recently. Really enjoyed her visit. Think she enjoyed as well.

1 does seem to be a little less crazy as do most roads once you get outside of Bangkok. Glad you made it back safe and sound, nice trip but equally, nice to be home I'm sure!

Livin' the life mate...looks a proper lunch. Have you considered making a bit of extra cash doing a blog thingy for TAT. Or Beer Lao maybe better.

I agree BLD, gotta eat a steak rare to med rare. If not, the steak really has no taste unless you drench it in gravy but then IMHO, it's a waste of money.

Naaaah Norts. I only post on this site for fun and to pass some time. I don't want to commit to having a social media blog of any sort. Too much nonsense and you have to keep up with the content. That said, BeerLao should pass along a little price break for me plugging their beer.
