A day in the life in the North

Yeah things up here along the river are pretty sedate. Good family activities, kids having a blast, music ok, traditional life. It's nice to see young and old celebrating in the parade, along the river.

Tomorrow night is the official full moon and Loy Krathong. Tonight will be more music and festivities. We donated 5 very large stuffed animals for the drawing tonight. Helps the Mooban and people love a drawing.

Last nights Festivities. River area was crowded. Music was good. A band played but was older traditional songs and not at 145db. We sat and had dinner with friends and the Mooban leader and then set our Krathongs a float

Thanks Snubs. Temps are staying extremally cool and low humidity which is quite nice. Makes for a really nice night out and about. Next big celebration will be New Years and we will have about 10 or so family members over for a big throw down dinner, some off the grill and some seafood.

Last few weeks has been quite busy with end of year business activities. Weather up here has been fantastic. Cool mornings, mild afternoons.



Youngest daughter sent me a pic as her and her husband closed out escrow and now are home owners. Very happy for them. Was on quite a few calls walking them through the signing documents but enjoyed it immensely. Its like a passing as a parent.



On these cooler days my wife whips up a good home made soup.



A very nice sunset the other evening.





Garden and pool area very relaxing while I enjoy some sports on TV.



Off on another ATV ride logging trails for the muddy winter months.



Looking in the back of my liquor cabinet the other day, Thought it time with the holiday season to crack open a new 20 year rum. . Lots of family and friends coming at the end of the month for New Years.

Well all my year end exec updates are done and loaded into the corporate share drive. My calendar is clear until Jan 5th. Ahhhh The holiday season.



Let the holiday seasons begin.



So having been off on numerous trails mapping out where I want to go during rainy season, I have racked up the ~500kms which is the service window. I got all the engine oil/filter and front and rear diff gear oil and torque requirements ready. One thing for sure if anyone is considering buying an ATV or a Side by Side is that there are no "Dealers" anywhere around so you are on your own and if you don't have the tools and capability to service your own stuff. It is something to keep in mind. Again if this was a Honda Wave or a Yamaha Fino etc then no issue but I wouldn't leave this up to some local shop to service. I will also check the CVT belt as I am curious as I have been beating this thing up in the mountains pretty regularly. Valve adjustment at 5k kms.

Hahahaha. Well I found getting to know the gals that own the coffee shop they have lots of very pretty single friends looking for nice western men. Haha.

Beauty day today. Some heavy fog to keep it cool. Enjoying the weather up here in the north.







first was up after the dog run, was to do a full service on the ATV. Any side oil filter motor can always make a mess but I found a nice little bag avoids all that.



Did front and rear differentials and lubed all the grease fittings. Fired it up....no leaks. ready to go.



Set up the new GoPro helmet mount to try it out. I am meeting up with a group of guys in CM in a few weeks to go ride some mountains and water ways.



Have some vids but can post here. But stopped to enjoy the quiet area and view.





After a busy day, time to have me a Mojito using the Fresh limes and Mint and some good bitters. Tonight meeting up with some friends for a big Moo Kah Ta dinner.

Living the dream stumpy. That's how it's done. Splendid behaviour.this time next week I will be on the balmy shores of Bali, having a frosty or 2 before jumping on the bird to Bangkok for a night, followed by 2 nights in udon to catch up with 2 old mates from my philippine days , both retired navy, always a good laugh with them boys. Didn't get to see them the last trip as just to busy with the wife's health issues but this time we're gonna make it happen. Will do 4 nights in bali on the way back booked a hotel with a swim up bar. Can't remember Wether I like bintang or not but who fucking cares
