This is not a Chinchoock but Took Keh. As matter of fact, he fights Chinchoocks away, sometimes feeding on them.

The plates for walls and ceilings are not by rattan but by bamboo slices. It is called Bamboo Plywood, made in a factory in Lampoon (Bamboo Plywood Factory), from woven bamboo mats in a similar technique like usual wooden plywood - compacted in various thicknesses by resin under pressure and heat. It is available at some wood dealer.
I have had it (lacquered) on ceiling for 10 years without any problem.
