    Sangkha

Anybody here who is in the Sangkha area ?

If so, is it possible that you can advise me on the internet service please ?

We have a home near Sangkha and we are about to move there upon my retirement.

Plenty to do on our farm , big old satellite dish up for the T.V., however my wife bless her, seems a bit vague concerning the internet connection ( probably being married to me for 17 years has addled her brain ). The phone line is in and has been up and running for a couple of years no problems, so connection should not be difficult.

    Any advise gratefully received.

    Thanks in anticipation.

Hate answer a question with a question but does your mobile work there??
If it does, and there is no internet cabling to your home, then use a Dtac Aircard plug-in internet wireless device Tb1790 to buy and Tb320 per month for 100 hours.
Not the fastest in the world but does the job.
Dtac has kiosks in most regional department stores (Tesco, Big C etc.,) and you can pay the monthly bill at any 7/11

Its approximately the same price over a year but you get the added advantage of wireless to move locations around the home or the country.

I gave up on TOT waiting for cables to be installed after 3 years and have used it with my lap top from Phuket to Nong Kai to Pai to Sattahip without any problems.

If the phone line is in then you can sign up with any ISP operator servicing Songkla in Thailand.

Thailand : Internet, Service Providers, Broadband, Wireless Wi-Fi. True Online. TOT.

    ^^ That's what I thought too
But if the line is not Internet compatible then you have to wait
I'm pretty sure TOT operates a monopoly on all cabling - ??

I think what they have to do is test the line for carrying digital data.
If the SNR and attenuation is within limits then it can be used for ADSL connection

if you are unable to get TRUE via ADSL because you are too far from an exchange DSLAM etc - then CAT CDMA is the best option

if you want a little mobility - probably a EC 150 USB modem

or if a static setup at home , then a CDMA sim card router with wifi and an external Yagi antenna would give you a good connection and also the ability to use wifi etc

    browse this page - 3ggateway-th.com
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

To all of you who replied a big , " THANK YOU,'' for the time and effort given and the advice.

''Her what spends the money,'' is on the case as speak and knock hell out of my keyboard with this message, well it seems as if it's action tomorrow in real time.

Norton, thanks; but as Baldrick pointed out it is actually Sangkha.
