Show me the Money! A Saturday morning parade down the main street of Sawang Daen Din last April of generous donations to a local project ...many thousands of dollars! What a great way to acknowledge and encourage charitable donations!
Lots of very tasty food and local produce at the night markets in Sawang Daen Din.
Mid Winter in Sawang Daen din can get as cold as 15 C at night with blue sky days of 26-28 C just about perfect, but "freezing" for the locals at night who wrap up in Ski Parkas and gloves when it goes below 20 C!
I go sawang X mass agen.
Hi all, just started going to SDD recently. Really like it there and thinking of retiring in this area 2nd half of next year when I finish up work.
Any advice/tips on renting a place or real estate places in SDD gratefully accepted.
Try going there and familiarizing oneself with the area would be a good start
What kind place you looking, just room or apartment or house ? I can still have room for rent, it up to beauty salon. But it is just only room and shower and roof terrace. But i can also ask my wife if she knows some place what can rent.
Hi Markos, thanks for the offer. Probably going to look for a room initially and store my things at my girlfriends parent's place. Just thinking of staying in SDD for 3 months initially and seeing what I think of it long term. There is an awful lot of Thailand I want to see once I retire but need a home base where I like to come home to (not sure that makes sense).
I don't finish up in Australia till 30 June but will message you closer to that date if that is ok.
Take a look at development to the rear of Tesco....in my opinion priced to high to buy, but an abundant amount of houses to rent in the development.
New development of bungalows planned or started somewhere near the hospital.........also there is the new 3 floor business houses opposite side of road from Tesco.

Yes thats right, there is some new shop houses near that main street. I have also German friend who make and sell houses that area, i no know if he have any just now but if someone intrested buy new house i can ask also that. I live Ban tao hai village when i there, but we have shop house just there middle of sawang. Same place where before have that Rainbow restoran what that one German man Walther been keeping, we own also that shop house but just now have someone rent it. We have that Beauty salon just there same place, but they make only womans hairs and makeup there.
Thanks all great information, very much appreciated
Day 19 i go Sawang agen.
Hi Markos ....will look you up after 27th...met your lady last trip, and she was kind enough to help my wife and self with some wi-fi access.
Just an idea...you are in the right Soy.......
Why don't you convert your shop into a little Greek restaurant...We need some good Greek barbecue and Greek salads in Sawang Daen Din....You might be surprised at the number of customers. Somewhere warm inside with good food would be popular when it gets cold at night soon.
If you are looking for some real excitement....."Birds Paradise resort" is running skydiving courses and dual skydiving about 10km from Sawang...great place and facilities, and caters for Westerner's and locals....
Learn to Skydive for 2013!!! Bird's Paradise Extreme Resort, Skydive, Skydiving, Thailand, drop zone

Pogues' Christmas hit reaches 25 YEARS
.It was christmas eve babe
In the drunk tank
An old man said to me: won't see another one
And then they sang a song
The rare old mountain dew
I turned my face away and dreamed about you
Got on a lucky one
Came in eighteen to one
I´ve got a feeling
This year´s for me and you
So happy christmas
I love you baby
I can see a better time
Where all our dreams come true.
They got cars big as bars
They got rivers of gold
But the wind goes right through you
It´s no place for the old
When you first took my hand on a cold christmas eve
You promised me broadway was waiting for me
You were handsome you were pretty
Queen of new york city when the band finished playing they yelled out for more
Sinatra was swinging all the drunks they were singing
We kissed on a corner
Then danced through the night.
And the boys from the NYPD choir were singing Galway Bay
And the bells were ringing out for christmas day.
You´re a bum you´re a punk
You´re an old slut on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed
You scumbag you maggot
You cheap lousy faggot
Happy christmas your arse I pray god it´s our last.
And the boys of the NYPD choir's still singing Galway Bay
And the bells were ringing out
For christmas day.
I could have been someone
Well so could anyone
You took my dreams from me
When I first found you
I kept them with me babe
I put them with my own
Can´t make it out alone
I´ve built my dreams around you
And the boys of the NYPD choir's still singing Galway Bay
And the bells are ringing out
For christmas day.

Have another HO... HO...HO Marcos! With the temperatures now in Finland I can see why you "need some laughs"!! My apologies ......I read your replies and assumed that you were the Greek Guy with the flat over the beauty parlour in the street with most of the restaurants to the South of the highway! If you have not eaten good Greek barbeque'd lamb, shaslicks, Greek salads, cakes and deserts........... then you need a holiday in Greece on the way to Thailand!
Much of Finland escapes the cold in Thailand.....There is another guy from Finland with a Thai wife and a nice house on the outskirts of Sawaang Daen Din.
Keep warm ntil you arrive back in Paradise!
@ ROGER......Much of Finland escapes the cold in Thailand.........
