Nope, can blame them at all. Universally, they will always have the advantage. We really can't "own" property out right here. We really don't have any "rights" {per se}. Regardless of how long one has resided here. There is this sorta smug feeling amongst certain Farang circles though. Just thought I'd touch upon this seemingly increasing phenomena.

No agenda behind the thread MtD, I just recall reading an extensive article about the current "problem" in the region. For the life of me, my memory escapes to where I first picked up on this topic. Newspaper, journal, internet....?? But I do recall the essay was heavily ladened Thai-centric POV.....just remembered! It was a long pasted article in TV, and as expected received a number of responses and whatnot.

I agree HG, my experience with Isaan lasses has always been positive. Good girls always. Can't go wrong. I married one, though she might not consider herself Isaan per se - but Khmer.

Maybe I'm an incurable romantic, but I find the Isaan people amongst the most likable in the world.

I interact with these people daily, and I have no problem at all with them, friendly and open, most seem honest manual toilers.
At the moment they are cutting rice so hundreds of them in the fields all helping out each other. Even tho its hot back breaking work they still seem to remain joyful and pleasantly disposed.
After years in Bangkok's dog eat dog environment, I am beginning to like Thai people again.
