Tooo bad the old Farang Alley at least had a bit of character. Now you'll have 24 cookie cutter beer bars with no taste at all.
E. G.
Went there on my visa run to Lao . What a boring one horse fkin place it is no bars worth mentioning , Farang food choice of Pizza KFC or another large Italian restaurant serving the crappiest food at silly prices . The only thing good about that place is finding the way out .
Are you talking about Udon ? its wonderful !
For a start we don't disclose to outsiders the hidden attractions of Udon, keep them for ourselves.
well you can show me then PP, I been thinking of moving to Khon K. or Udon for some time now and might just do it.
So keep your eye out for me..
Oh, Deary me BG, and just when I was thinking of moving to Pattaya
They tell me Khon Kean is real nice and you got Spin to look after you.
I already have someone to look after me, and besides I think Spin is under qualified to look after someone as high caliber as I.
Now why in the fuck would you want to move down to the Skid Row for??
I think that BG has received the subtle version of PP's avatar...
thought the western food in Udon was good tooOriginally Posted by Sparky
nice place for a day or two
Oh and BTW the skinny guy that owns the tattoo parlour in falang alley has been rated as one of the top ten tattooists (sp?) in the country. Bamboo or the conventional your choice.
I hope he finds decent alternative premises.
I dont know about you lads but I have been to Udon Thani a few times know just for a visit I find it a great place to get away from Pattaya, I usually hang out in kanchanaburi. I have found an few interesting people and good food, had lamb chops at Molly molones just grate.

Thank you for pointing out my inability to spell
Maybe he did eat the grate, to me that would beat lamb chops any day.Originally Posted by addo
All in all had a few good nights at Molly Molones. Good people and great staff I'll pay them a visit again when I'm back in the Kingdom.
Glad you enjoyed Udon Addo, its not the liveliest place in Thailand but then I don't wish it to be, there are some superb Thai restaurants around and a few Ok'ish Farang ones but I prefer to cook at home for my family or Family a few mates.
The night market is good for girl ogling and has pretty reasonable Thai food. The Bars are in my opinion a bit of a waste of time, usually half full of old pissed guys and oinky pussy.
There is a Soi catering for guys who just want a shag, usually staffed with Lao girls.
Last time I went a couple of years ago, I ordered a beer and asked a girl if she wanted a drink also, she said "I no here for drink, I'm here for fuck only"
Direct and to the point, I like that in a girl.
I'm there for a brake in the hoilday my days in Pattaya are over just sick of the in your face attitude. It OK to cachup with some old mates but but I like Kan and Udon just to relax.
OK I can not spell
There was a thread came up today on Molly Molones in the Udonmap forum, apparently for no good reason, the Irish owner dealt a departing customer a couple of good blows to the head.
It was there 10 mins ago and I refreshed it, GONE.
On the Udon map forum you DO NOT discuss Sponsors, unless its in glowing terms.
Could someone tell me the difference between Udon Thani & KhonKaen ?
Which one you prefer, and why ?
Thanks,
whittler/aka Mike
Not much to choose between the two of them, there are more Farangs in Udon and more dead beats sadly.
Udon has a better choice of Western style housing, better choice of Western eating places and bars, although many of them aren't worth a toss. I think I prefer Udon, its easier to get around, streets seem wider and easy access to Nong Kai and Lao, but its marginal for me. I guess it boil down for me as to the sort of choice where to locate a house.
I couldn't live in a Thai village, I would end up killing some of them, so where I live is a Farang enclave, a few clued up Thai businesses owners live here but the ratio is about 50/50.
Suits me its quiet, people take care of things, if they have a party its a quiet affair and they close up early, considerate people both the Thais and Westerners.
Udon is great.. itīs a general relaxed atmosphere and everything isnt based on income from tourism. However theres quite alot of farangs here but its not near to what you experience further south.
Soi Farang with the biggest collection of bars has been closed and im really interested in the new project Udon Day and Night that they are building instead. It looks much better and well organized. I heard itīs gonna open up in June or July and ill be there for sure.
Seeya in Udon :P
I agree with you BeeKay, I live in Udonthani and have done for the last 6 months. I love it here. Nice size city, easy to get round, plenty of good restaurants, easy access by Airplane, not much traffic, very beautiful girls, complex in the middle with 10 screen cinema and 15 lane bowling alley. some cool discos and not overrun with farang.
BK is correct the soi with all the bars on has been shut down but UDON DAY AND NIGHT a brand new walking street featuring 24 units that will be the new entertainment center is slated to open on the 1st of July. I cant wait and am very excited about this project. Make sure you guys pop in to see it if you ever come to Udonthani.
