It didn't seem like it. And I am sure if he eventually finds an honest bar girl, he will be so jealous and distrustful by now that she will probably end up leaving him too.....

In fact, this could be a system of distrust that feeds of itself - you come to Pattaya with at least a trace of morals and dignity, but after a few encounters with unscrupulous members of the opposite sex, you end up becoming just as shrewed, manipulative and dishonest as they are - just to survive. Either that or you jump off a building when the last of your illusions have vanished.......
Any error in tact, fact or spelling is purely due to transmissional errors...

Think this could apply to the female half of the equation as well. Particularly if you add being influenced by hard core coworkers.

I actually left it gender neutral for exactly that reason. Just like the farangs fresh off the plane, the newly arrived bar girls are just as likely to be taken advantage off by both their co-workers as the men they are supposed to "service". I believe the lies, thievery, deceit, the constant threath of violence and STDs combined with an absence of people you can trust eventually destroys most long-term Pattaya visitors/workers.

^I do believe the older working girls will encourage the younger ones to be dishonest, maybe it's to protect them from deceitful farangs, but more likely because they're jealous of any long term relationship they might form.

I gave up the idea about the Isaan forum only, or a forum only for that matter.
Still experimenting, more like a private website so far, the luxury of people who do not need to earn a living from it.
So far, a main page, a blog and a forum (for me, I love talking to myself quite often ) , no gallery yet although it was one of the priority...

No wonder I couldn't find anything new on google. Noted there are a bunch of German language Isaan only forums.

Well, I think mine looks better, even if it is still a work in progress...
And it is not about Isaan only.
    Or a forum only.
    Geez...
Besides it has been online for only a few days, do not expect it to show on any search...

I'll actually probably post a link to this site, and quite a few others I post in, I'd like to keep the "light" forum on mine clean and simple.
And it is not a joke.

No wonder. If you travel around Isaan, there are a lot of germanspeakers = swiss, austrians, luxembourg, dutch, belgians and germans to. And, is there any problem . Many infos are still good and TV ? if they find out you are an non-native englishspeaker, they let you feel that they not like you (racism oder what)

The "no wonder" comment was stating the reason I couldn't find Bluecats' new forum. Nothing to do with racism. Agree with you, from what I can see, Isaan has far more non native English speakers than native speakers.

I'll second that, I've a Swede and a German who live relatively close by. The German doesn't speak any English (or maybe he just didn't want to talk to me!) not sure about the Swede as he won't talk either.

So far out of the farangs Ive encountered where I live only 1 has returned any form of acknowledgement. Im not talking about in Tesco shopping etc just random street 7-11 door holding type situations. Bloke in question was on a mototrbike at a junction. "alright" "hello" and that was it. The rest of the old codgers look at me as if I shouldnt be here for some reason, maybe because Im half their age or something. One looked like he was going to say hi but then turned on the old codger "this is my town, what are you doing here?" look so I told him to stop being a rude old [at][at][at][at] and stop staring at my mrs.

Can happen in Bangkok also. On the compound where I live, quite a few Americans from the Embassy, and quite a few Australians.
The rest is Indian Thais and Thais.
The ones always saying hello to me are the Indian Thais and the Thais.
    Occasionnally the Australians (the men).
But the farang chicks and quite a few of their husbands just ignore me.
Not that it bothers me much actually, they'll be gone far before I will...

Well, never thought about it, maybe you're right, they think I'm French.
I'll need to correct this confusion fast...
