Even in Aus I used to hire some house cleaners and someone to do the ironing and gardening. Why is Jims Mowing one of the biggest growing businesses in Victoria?

True True. There are 2 lines of thoughts for those that do. 1) You were brought up that way and typically do not pay to have work done, you can do ( within reason of course) 2 Some do it for pride in ownership and staying active.

Off course there are a few others like being a fat lazy bastard or poor and can't afford it...

Yeah fuck off, one of the perks of living in these places is cheap labour to do menial shit while we do more productive things like watch sports on TV, or anything else we might actually enjoy doing.

Watching sports on TV has limited appeal for some nationalities.

I need the gardener for when I'm away at work so when I'm home I tend to cherry pick jobs and let him get on with his routine. We've created a very labour-intensive home and it would be hard work without help. My feeling is that he's being paid anyway so use him. It doesn't make me lazy as there's always something to be done here.

I have zero interest in washing the car which he does occasionally, mowing the lawn or digging chicken manure into the veggie patch. I also believe the wife gets him to do ironing... I have learnt it's best to stay out of it. To be honest my lifestyle rarely warrants proper clothes let alone ironed clothes so there's not a lot to do. The last time I wore an ironed shirt was in Bangkok back in December and the next time will hopefully soon be in Bangkok to pick up one of HW's meat temperature monitoring thingies.

Today the gardener started vacuuming the pool after he had done the chickens and general other odd jobs around the place. He keeps busy.

This freed me up for the fun jobs. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone to sew a patch of this quality anyway and some jobs are best done yourself. Even Mrs Dingle would have been proud of this one.

And next is to start on the pool fence undercoat now that I've finally finished sanding. I must admit I do sometimes wonder at my job selection as this one's a real b@stard and digging that stump out wasn't a lot of fun either.

Hey Mendy. Looking at the pool vacuum pic, it looks like you have one of those underwater pool sweeps that automatically vacuums. Is plugging in the hose considered vacuuming the pool? Just asking.

Me too for the most part. Of course much of that is driven by our personal upkeep expectations. For now being a groundskeeper is quite enjoyable and rewarding. Makes the ice cold beer refreshing after done.

Was that from 2017/18 or 2021/22 ... as both were 4-0 victories?

    Happy Friday

Well had a helluva morning with stupid shit. Firstly woke up to find that my Phone was at 26% and won't charge. Logged into company email to read a flurry of panic emails for work about material shortages. Address the concerns on a call. Done! Moving on I go down to find that the pool timer took a dive so I have to manually run the system until I get the new timer. As I walked around I found that my 1 year Lab puppy (Annie) decided that her chew toys were not of interest and she took a dive in the pool and got the floating pool thermometer to destroy. While I was doing my fixes and chasing issues I got to watch the Golden State Warriors lose to a shitbag team all because of poor discipline and play.

But hey...on the bright side with some work got the phone thing figured out. The pool timer is on order along with a new pool thermometer. Had a few beers at lunch and now relaxing with a nice breeze as the rain has let up....for now

    The dogs seem comfy....

Well one learns in Thailand to use Thai Teakwood furnishings. No patching required and a quick wash with hose and clean and done..

Beautiful morning. 17c and bright blue skies. Vacuumed the pool, Mowed the lawns, trimmed the palms and then pulled up a chair and now enjoying the afternoon. Summer is a coming.

The otherside is small single story home and my hedges offer privacy and they do not have windows on that side. Pool is warming up nicely now. Spun s few laps yesterday. Water temp 27c and lots of sun.

Man....stunning weather up here in the North. Finished up my chores around the compound and took off on a ride.

Quick stop along this river short cut road I take.

Stopped and walked over to get me an iced Cappuccino then sat by the river.
