^^ Better still, let out an SBD in the queue and then look around disapprovingly at the person behind.

Beans make a breakfast easier to digest and for toast to go down
I don't see why you Mercans don't get this
Think of it like a lumpy hot sauce without the heat
Or like small healthy orange oval potatoes
BTW, big fan of pancakes, syrup, jelly, grits and bud
Well clearly a cultural thing, but I don't understand how you Britlands can even consider wet sloppy tomato sauce baby food running all over your plate. I guess if you don't want to chew you just mash the slop against the roof of your mouth and swallow with a sippy cup.
Even the UK folks I know in the states gave up on that bean deal and order a nice, bacon/ham and egg bfast with hashbrowns /taters with a side of flapjacks/Toast.
Since I caught that big rat snake I've been seeing signs of snakes all over the place in the garden.
In between the usual news stories of trapped frogs being released from drains and people slipping over on wet tiles, the tv news mentioned that snakes will be coming out at the start of the wet season. They weren't wrong.
This snake skin had been shed by the chicken run... it looked like it belonged to a golden tree snake and quite a big one too, maybe around four feet, or as the wife would say, as thick as a big thumb. I like to see snakes in the chicken run as they catch the mice... but I hope it leaves the chicks alone that are due to hatch in a couple of weeks.
I collect the skins for the daughter but to be honest she isn't that interested. She feigns enthusiasm just to make me happy, the lovely kid!
That's also a piece of petrified wood on the table I picked up on a dog walk... probably 15 million years old... but the daughter doesn't seem very interested in that either.
And this morning as I opened the gate I spotted this skin which also looked as though it had come from a golden tree snake.
I tried to collect it for the daughter but it had baked hard to the metal and came off in pieces.
I was hoping this thread would have some legs like a "What did you do today? type thread, Always enjoyable to see what some of us do with their time.
Yesterday was a busy one. Up at sun up (Like always) and relaxed listening to the birds for a bit laying out what I wanted to get done today..
Wanted to clean up and prune the various palms and shrubs around the pool area and wash the deck.
After that was done, I was craving an iced green tea rom this nice lady at the shop 3 or 4 kms so I got on my bike and rode to pick one up
I stopped off at the park a few hundred yards from the house and drank my tea
Got back and the weather was just perfect at about 10:30am so I fired up the moto and took a run into the mountains. I needed to get it out.
I relaxed for a bit when I got back around noon and had an ice cold beer with lunch.
After some yard weedwhacking Came across this guy by the pipe run off by the house where the rain water exits away from the house. Seemed quite happy sitting in a little water.
To end the day I trimmed back our mulberry trees. Our tortoises love them and I just put in a big pile and they come from all over the property to eat without fighting.
Just a "Day in the life"
That was a great post JP.
Two durian saplings left for me to plant this morning. SHMBO was off picking mangosteen.
One in the morning, lunch and the second, once the burning heat had passed.
Job done.
A bowl of mangosteens and a jug of Sangsom/orange juice/ice cubes was awaiting me when I returned.
Life carries on.
A tray full of GOLD is not worth a moment in time.
As a compromise you could harness up the tortoise troupe so at least you can walk the mower without pushing.
Don't they eat grass anyway? I thought they would at least be earning their keep
If you remove all other vegetation they will eventually evolve into a grass eating sub-species according to Darwin's giant tortoise diaries from the Galapagos
The tortoises eat a ton of the grass but when rainy season starts the grass grows what seems like 3" a day. They can't keep up. I like to keep is cut low to keep snakes away and it's easier to walk around the yard. The tortoises roam the property at their leisure. The tortoise crap is outstanding fertilizer as I put it under various trees and shrubs. The neighbor lady comes and picks some up for her plants. It is a mini eco system.
Did a quick walk of the compound with the dogs and played fetch. Birds everywhere. Beautiful blue skies and 24c. Heard our super nice neighbor lady pounding away on her chopping board making something to eat. Came up stairs to my office and started up command central.
Mondays pretty relaxed. Thailand factories just getting started. US factory still enjoying Sunday. Japan folks just getting started. Folks in the Czech Republic still in bed.
Zip off a few quick mails and messages for the Local folks and wait for updates. End of the quarter coming so everything is about revenue.
Have a good one
^ Do you power-dress for work, like Mendy?
The missus is away.
Looking after two kids during lockdown and online learning. The youngest is seriously pushing my buttons, avoids work like a pom avoids showers and argues back everything! The middle child is in tears every 30 minutes because she misses mom.
Grrrr!
Cheers KDubya. Man I do not miss those days of children upbringing. Covid has made it really "Special" for sooooooo many......
