^ Strange you mention that... in the 'Anna the Dog' thread I mentioned she'll be doing elocution lessons next!

I'll make sure Coco stays grounded, although she mentioned wanting to try the Kantary Grill next week.

I thought you may make an appearance Nev!

Yes, well done, 3 out of 3, although 2 have already been answered so only one 'Green'!

The south city gate... and I had no idea it was also called pratu chai narong. Here's another pic of a city gate from 140 years ago (1880) to show how things have changed. I believe this is the Chumphon city gate (west), but still a good comparison.

I drive through the 224/226 junction constantly. When heading north towards the city there are 5 lanes, 3 for straight on and 2 for turning right. Drivers are constantly trying to cut into the middle 'straight on' lane from the turning right lanes at the last second to jump the queue. I never let them in, and drive exactly alongside the car trying to cut in, and about 3mm behind the car in front. Once the car gets stuck in the outside lane, but doesn't turn right, the police come out of their box immediately and nail the bugger. I love it. If the police haven't noticed the guy blocking the right turn lane, a small toot on the horn alerts them! This is why it's my favourite junction in Korat.

Is the old Thai country music place still around? Dawan Daeng or something?

The local ladies in there were very friendly...

^ I rarely get out these days.

There were a few clubs in that same area (Pailin Square) when we came to Korat, fourteen loooong years ago. I seem to remember one was called the Pailin Cafe and I visited Dewan Daeng once and had a good night, and I think it's still there. I don't really enjoy going to these places with the missus.

In a previous life I seem to remember many Thai ladies being very friendly...

Yeah, Korat as a whole was a good night out. It's a long time ago, but I do remember being in this place.

I think it's a chain, but I'm not sure how many locations they have nationwide.

I drive through that intersection a lot on my way into Korat central and agree 100% with your action on those fukkers that try to cut down the outside and then cut back in. I didn't know about the cops actually booking anyone as I have never seen it happen.

As for Chez Andy's I have eaten there once and it was the best steak I have had in Thailand and ranks right up there with the all time best ever. I will have to go back there one day.

^ Ootai... you can see the police box just past the tip of Coco's right ear, with a policeman out and in action. They constantly book cars unless it's raining. It must be a lucrative post.

It makes my day to trap a driver who wants to go straight on, in the right turn only lane. The icing is when a policeman comes out to becon him over for a fine!

Come on you Koratians... Location No. 5. Plenty of clues here!

    Easy

    4. Outside Korat main train station on Mukamontri Road.
    5. Opposite Terminal 21, on the Big C side of the road.

^ I fear you are going to have to get creative with camera angles or dial in the zoom to outwit Nev on these Mendip.

Bladdy hell Nev... that was quick!

These must be too easy... if only Coco had even bigger ears then the Terminal 21 one may have been a bit harder.

Very well done, a green owed.

Location No. 4 was indeed the Nakhon Ratchasima Railway Station.

Location No. 5... Terminal 21 (from the Big C side of the road). This was a difficult shot to get with no parking allowed along that stretch.

I fear you're right NPT... I can see a whole morning's work being solved within an hour at this rate.

I've got jobs to do and need some time... so have had to go 'advanced' level before I planned.

Location No. 6... where is Coco?

^ It's been closed for a while mate. Nothing to do with Covid19 either... I think it's closed for good.

That's a shame, although the punters leaned to the morose when i went there (perhaps that was the effect i had) i quite liked some of their nosh.

I mentioned Texas Korat, i last went there back in the heady days of 2002 and i quite enjoyed the open air beer and music place - anyone else remember it, used to have a few crusty Vets in leathers hanging around.

I was in Korat in 2002 and went out often but I don't recall Texas Korat. Where exactly was it, NPT?

My memory is hazy to exact location but i seem to recall it was by some water..heady times back then. I was trying to google the name but got through 4 pages and gave up. I'll try again..kept getting Texas Korat Cat appreciation societies. The place was largely open air, lots of wood and painted black.
