Coco's a pretty young girl... as with humans she can get away with anything, and besides, we tell the others she's off to the vets whenever we go out. They feel sorry for her!

This morning Coco went all continental and asked for a baguette with some crap cheese for breakfast.

But has she really jet-setted off during these times of Covid lockdown, or is she playing another of her tricks?

    Location 19... Where is Coco?

    ^ Good try...

    But No!

Sadly dogs aren't allowed in Terminal 21.

At a condo - City Link (on the road linking Mitrapap Road with SA school).

    ^ Yep, City Link Condos.

Each complex is named after a different international city.

Another green owed Nev... I hope you're keeping count.

Today we went to see a temple just down the road from home, maybe 7km from our house.

This temple has been in the news fairly recently... a green for the temple name, and another for why it made the news.

So, what wat and why? Location 20... Where is Coco?

    An unassuming entrance.

    A nice big Buddha.

    Maybe this is the temple?

And this golden building with a steeple.

    Wat Pa Sattaratam (วัดป่าศรัทธารวม)

There was some shooting going on there. The same guy as Terminal 21, I think.

Yes... well done Nev! Two more greens owed.

Back in February eight civilians and a policeman were killed here before the shooter went on to Terminal 21.

It's so close to our house that the gunshots would have been within easy earshot, although maybe not noticeable as we often hear live firing exercises from the nearby army base (where the tragedy started).

    The last gate...

The Chumphon Gate, or Isaan Gate is the most famous of Korat's city gates. Coco and I have spent the afternoon researching history and come up with some great results.

    The Chumphon Gate in 1880...

The Chumphon Gate 30 years later in 1910...

And jump forward another 110 years, and the Chumphon Gate on 18th June 2020!

What I find remarkable is that the stone building blocks evident in 1910 can still be seen in position in 2020, allowing for a bit of movement from restoration.

I find it fitting that in 2020 there was a mororbike parked where in 1910 a bullock cart was passing under the gate.

And another close up of the gate... all views so far from within the old city, looking out. And there is the Lady Mo statue.

And the reciprocal view from outside the old city, looking in. There is an old superstition that if you walk through the Chumphon Gate you will never leave Korat. I was happy to risk it... but the daughter insisted we walked around, which quietly pleased me!

So... bearing in mind we've already covered the North Gate, the South Gate and the East Gate... which side of Kort's old city is the Chumphon Gate located on?

I think it would be nice if this question was saved for Mr Dillinger as he's tried so hard for a green on this thread without success.

If you're quick enough Dill... which side of the city is the Chumphon Gate on? Location No. 21... Where is Coco?

^ She won't walk on the lead yet... so if I plonk her down with the lead on she just lies down.

Managed to get her to sit for the pic... she was going no-where!

^ Yesterday at the Chumphon Gate my daughter told me she's never been so embarrassed in her life... and in fact she loves these outings so much that she's started charging me for pics used on the forum. I thought nine year-olds were too young to get embarrassed?

This thread will cost me a fortune.

Although I must admit... we did get some strange looks!

Coco really hit the dog lottery didn't she.

From being poorly and neglected to pampered and carried around on sightseeing trips.

^ Coco is a great companion on our sightseeing trips.

She just sits alongside me with a big smile on her cute little face. She doesn't tell me to speed up, or to slow down. When we get out of the car, it's not either too hot, or too cold.

In fact she's just perfect... she's always happy, never complains and she can't talk.

And she has no extended family... at least not that she's told me about!

I think that's already been established, she's going to have some Yogi in her soon.

^^^ Snakeeyes, I like her just the way she is.

^^ Again... insults aren't the way to get greens on this thread!

^ Closely followed by a bit of Tommy by the looks of things.

OK... so time is up on Location 21. Must admit I thought this was an easy one.

The Chumphon or Isaan Gate is on the WEST side of Korat's city wall. Yes, it is the West Gate.

No takers, so well done Coco, your second green of the thread!

Coco sees that with this Covid lockdown I'm getting worried about ever getting back offshore again and earning some money, so she offered to help out.

She asked if she should get a job here... but I said no. Things haven't come to that yet.

So where did Coco offer to get a job, and why wouldn't I let her? Location 22... Where is Coco?

^ Ginza soapy massage!!! (opposite Klang Plaza 2)

You wouldn't let her work there because she's not that kind of dog! (not yet anyway). And soapy massage parlours aren't allowed to open yet.

    Yes!

One of the best known massage parlours in Korat... happy endings guaranteed.

Well, at least that's what I've been told!

    Green owed!
