My early morning, post-swim cuppa. It's never easy getting a family pic.

    It's like herding dogs...

After a long day every one should have one good friend to relax with, and mine is Yogi. Ootai popped in today to say hello and he also likes Yogi. OK, so he rests his dangling, sweating balls on the outside furniture and cocks his leg against the trees, but after all, he is Australian.

    Me and Yogi don't mind!

Tonight I wanted to catch a big pla nin to have steamed up for tomorrow's dinner. I'm trying to eat healthier.

But no luck, they just weren't biting.

As Ootai will attest, there must be 300 to 400 fish in that bloody pond but I blanked. You would have thought it would be easier to catch something than not.

And you can see the buggers swimming about. This one was well over a kilo, I reckon.

My "garden" is tiny. We built over the back one so it's just the small bit out the front but I'd love a table and chairs to contemplate on. Wife flat out refused those stone table and chairs.

Same here. We had one when we started our house construction apparently for the builders to use during the project. When done my wife requested it be taken with them or tossed in the bin. I never saw the thing again. I asked her what happened to that cement table chair deal, she said "those are uncomfortable and ugly" and that was that.

Mendys dogs clearly love them. They use them to cool off their nutsack while he shares a beer with them...

I wouldn't be sitting at Mendy’s tables and chairs after those dogs have been all over them…

The Beer Leo and Yaa Dong should keep most away, anyway.

Not judgemental, just scared of dogs' bollocks germs.

Yup. There's pictorial evidence that the dogs lie on the stone table & benches.

I love my (my mom's) dogs but I don't allow them to do that. They sleep on the floor!

Honestly Mendy, I am not delicate and nor do I believe the other TD folks are. While not speaking for the audience by any means, I do have certain hygiene standards and eating and drinking where a dog has dragged its nutsack and ass across the table or dropped various dog dander hits the low bar threshold for me. While I can absolutely appreciate the love ya have for your dogs, there are limits. Dogs on tables where I sit, eat and drink is one of them. That said, your house your rules. If we ever meet up, can we pick a restaurant and meet. I don't want to have to stand when I eat..

The rain has just been relentless lately.

But you get nothing for nothing in this world and we're not fair weather fishermen.

Only Anna hasn't been bitten by the fishing bug... the others love it.

And our perseverance was eventually rewarded. A 1kg pla nin.

Despite the torrential rain we soldiered on...

And finished up with a brace of lovely pla nin... this ended a lean spell I've had for the last few days.

So it'll be fish for tea tomorrow. I quite fancy chilli fish with rice but seeing as I don't know how to make it, it'll probably be baked pla nin with peas and sprouts.
